We need to stop pretending that technology can fix problems that aren’t technological in nature. Kids are bored. They don’t know why they’re learning what they’re learning. The solution isn’t asking the question better. The solution is asking a better question.

in the modern business environment, the desire to learn new things is often trumped by the need to respond to the next item on the to-do list. There are no shortcuts to having high-quality knowledge, but effort spent learning new things effectively repays itself handsomely in the long run.

Multitasking is the bane of modern existence. You cannot maximize the quality of your knowledge if you are doing two things at once.

Stop and organize.

Action Step 1: Stop thinking technology first.

Action Step 2: Give students authentic choice in how they will demonstrate their learning.

Action Step 3: Help students seek feedback from other students, other educators, and experts in the field.

When it comes to technology – something so ingrained in our daily lives – what if we stop asking “why” and start asking “how”? What if we told stories about solutions instead of failures?

Here are things we can do differently today: Stop putting grades on everything students turn in.
