A sex offender was murdered in his flat before his body was stuffed into a suitcase and buried in a shallow grave in the woods, a court heard yesterday. Geoffrey Reed, who served 10 years in prison for raping a vulnerable adult and a child, was found doubled up in a foetal position in a suitcase hidden on land off Huntick Road in Lytchett Matravers, the hearing was told. Half-brothers Stuart Raymond Wareham, 26, and Lee Raymond Wareham, 33, are accused together with Benjamin Henry Walter, 22, of murdering Mr Reed between June 6 and June 14 last year.

"Robert Edward Hind, 46, was reported missing last Wednesday evening. Yesterday (Tuesday) a 46-year-old man was charged with his murder. David Anthony Mitchell is said to have murdered Mr Hind at Manchester Road in Cowlersley, Huddersfield, on Wednesday December 11. Mitchell, of the same address, refused to leave the cells to go into the courtroom but the matter was dealt with in his absence. A bail application could not be considered as the defendant was not in court."

A father has been cleared by a jury of murdering his only son. Kevin Patrick Fletcher had been accused of stabbing to death his 32-year-old son Kevin Anthony Fletcher, a convicted sex offender and drug dealer, because he was a "burden" to the family. At Newry Crown Court yesterday, however, it took a jury less than an hour-and-a-half to decide that the 62-year-old Armagh man had not killed his son. Mr Fletcher, from Drumarg Park, smiled when trial Judge Kevin Finnegan told him he was free to go. He then shook hands with relatives in the public gallery before walking from the court.

A jury has convicted San Juan Capistrano resident Robert Eugene Vasquez of murdering his neighbor in what prosecutors described as a vigilante killing. He was also convicted of almost killing a second San Juan Capistrano man two days later, as he was hiding out from the police.

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) - The 2008 death of a sex offender has been identified as a homicide that took place in the city of Dayton, police announced Wednesday. James Rembowski's remains were found in the 7000 block of Lexington - Salem Road near West Alexandria in July 2008. Sources tell 2 NEWS that police suspect Rembowski may have actually been killed at an address of Huffman Avenue in Dayton. Rembowski was convicted of a sex crime in Florida before moving to Dayton. He was under indictment for failure to register as a sex offender at the time of his death. Investigators are now working with the Montgomery County Prosecutor's Office and say they have identified possible suspects.

Imagine that, vigilantes committing murder and targeting others, except themselves who are committing crime as well, and then calling it "justice!"

UNION COUNTY, AR - An inmate in prison for failure to register as a sex offender was allegedly strangled to death late Friday night. According to reports, inmate Ronald Holland, 44, stopped a guard around 1:00 am on December 8 to report that he'd strangled his cell mate with a bed sheet. Holland reportedly told the guard that he'd strangled his cell mate, identified as Matthew Schiele, 22, around 11:00 pm Friday night and covered his body with a sheet. Schiele was in prison serving a 48-month sentence for failure to register as a sex offender, while Holland was serving out a capital murder life sentence without parole. Arkansas State Police is investigating.
