Bra machinery - we make money not art - 0 views

  • Bra Trainer is a fictional teaching aid designed by Noam Toran to instruct adolescent boys to overcome the intricacies of opening the brassiere. When initiated the machine mechanically demonstrates the basic principles of clasp disengagement. Following a short pause the machine then re-secures the bra ready for the next demonstration. The piece is inspired from accounts of repressive post-war institutionalised sex education in the UK in which teachers were not allowed to touch any of the props (prophylactics, physical models of reproductive organs) unless using gloves or a stick. In collaboration with Nick Williamson.

Semantic Web - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia - 0 views

  • The semantic web is an evolving extension of the World Wide Web in which web content can be expressed not only in natural language, but also in a format that can be read and used by software agents, thus permitting them to find, share and integrate information more easily.[1] It derives from W3C director Sir Tim Berners-Lee's vision of the Web as a universal medium for data, information, and knowledge exchange.

Excel tip: Instant in-cell graphs - Lifehacker - 0 views

  • Excel Excel tip: Instant in-cell graphs The Juice Analytics blog has a clever little Excel trick that creates a bar graph inside cells using the repeat (REPT) function. REPT looks like this: =REPT(text,number_of_times) For instance, REPT("X",10) gives you "XXXXXXXXXX". For in-cell bar charts, the trick is to repeat a single bar "|". When formatted in 8 point Arial font, single bars look like bar graphs.

U B U W E B :: Film & Video - 0 views

  • UbuWeb is pleased to present dozens of avant-garde films & videos for your viewing pleasure. However, it is important to us that you realize that what you will see is in no way comparable to the experience of seeing these gems as they were intended to be seen: in a dark room, on a large screen, with a good sound system and, most importantly, with a roomful of warm, like-minded bodies.

Quick Tips on Diigo for Advanced Users - 0 views

shared by marcell mars on 22 Jul 07 - Cached
  • To highlight a body of text, select the text and click Diigo on the toolbar or in the right-click menu. If this page has not been previously bookmarked yet, the system will ask you to bookmark first, so that both the highlight and this page will be bookmarked simultaneously. For any page already bookmarked, highlight will show up instantaneously when you click Diigo. A highlight is only viewable to its owner on the original page, and is NOT viewable to the public on the original page unless there are public Sticky Notes associated with it. (This is designed to reduce graffiti on the original webpage) On the Diigo website, all highlights will be shown as clippings along with the bookmarks.  If a bookmark is public, so will be its associated clippings. (This is designed to maximize information sharing) Use the floating menu over highlight to delete it or to add sticky notes. If the floating menu is disabled (in Options), simply left-click it to add sticky, and right-click to delete it.

Web Ontology Language - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia - 0 views

  • The Web Ontology Language (OWL) is a language for defining and instantiating Web ontologies.[1] An OWL ontology may include descriptions of classes, along with their related properties and instances. OWL is designed for use by applications that need to process the content of information instead of just presenting information to humans. It facilitates greater machine interpretability of Web content than that supported by XML, RDF, and RDF Schema (RDF-S) by providing additional vocabulary along with a formal semantics. OWL is based on earlier languages OIL and DAML+OIL, and is now a W3C recommendation.
