This is a video from teacher tube about the parts of plants and what they need. I would show this video on the day that the students would make their chart craft of the parts of plants. I feel like this would flow with the craft project perfectly.

This resource is a youtube video that discusses the various types of plant habitats and adaptations. It is 8 minutes and 19 seconds long. The speaker in this video does have an accent which may distract the children but I feel that the information covered in this video ties in perfectly with my standard 2-LS4-1. This video talks about several plant habitats and has excellent pictures. I would use this to introduce the plant section dealing with diversity of habitats.

This website contains a video about food chains and food webs. It explains what producers, consumers, scavengers, decomposers, herbivores, carnivores, omnivores, etc. are. It is very kid friendly because of the colors and easy accessibility. I like this website because it is interactive for young students. I would use this as a resource in my classroom to introduce the topic of food chains because it is a fun video the students will enjoy.

This website has activities, videos, and games directly related to food chains. I would use this site for resources and ideas for activities. I would also use it for the videos to show the students to better understand the concept of food chains.

Here is an in-depth introduction to the Solar System and the planets that are in it. From the sun to why poor Pluto is no longer considered a planet, come along for a ride across the Solar System. FreeSchool is great for kids! I like this video for a number of reasons. One thing I really like about this video is how it gives the students an accurate perspective of the size of the different bodies in our solar system. It's also jam packed with a lot of great information about the solar system and builds on possible vocabulary words such as matter and mass. The narrator also has a soothing voice, which is a plus. I would use this video after spending a little time defining the necessary vocabulary of our solar system. We could follow up the video by making our own solar system that we could hang in the hallway.

Good resource. Try tagging using K-2, 3-5, 6-8 and/or 9-12 as grade level options. For this one, for example, K-2 AND 3-5 rather than K-5. Thanks!

This is an interactive video tour through space that gives the students basic details about each planet. The video also offers mini quizzes that tests the students knowledge over the material that has been presented in the video. This video could be used as an introduction to a solar system lesson to get the children familiar with the planets before diving deeper into solar system.

This short video gives a brief description of the solar system. Although it doesn't go into great detail, it is a great starting point to get the students interested on the subject and excited to learn more about solar system. One thing that I really like about this video is the fact that is doesn't say anything about Pluto. Many of the other videos that I watched still included information about Pluto.

I thought this would be a cute video to use as an introduction to solids, liquids, and gases. This would work best with younger grades (1-3) as the video uses a lot of animation and a catchy song. This app allows students to watch videos and then they are able to answer questions about the videos. I like that this app includes multiple subjects besides science, so it is more effective. I also like this app, because the students can watch the videos as much as and as long as they want so that they will be able to understand the material. I also like that the app allows the students to answer questions about the videos they watched.

Another pre class video to get the classes intrest going in physics. The video is a clip from the T.V. show The Big Bang Theory that may help the younger students pay attention.

I would recommend starting the video at about 1:15 "What is Physics?" Also re-named the resources to be descriptive and added a tag for grades 9-12, for which I think this is actually more appropriate.

While navigating through the website, students will be able to obtain knowledge on our solar system and all of the planets involved. Each planet has its own page of information. I like this website, because you can have the students use technology (the computers) and team work to find all of the information on each of the planets. I would have pairs of students receive one planet, and then sharing to the class about their information (This would help the kinesthetic learners) Also, there is a short 4 minute video that is called the "The Solar System Song" which has information about each planet. I would use this after the students all shared their information on what they learned on their planet. By sharing this video it incorporates technology, review and for those visual learners a small video to help them remember planets. There is also a planet quiz on the website as well as links to the stars and moons pages.

I will use this video in my lesson about lightning and static electricity. I really like this video because a meteorologist answers questions asked by elementary students about lightning. I think my elementary students will enjoy it because young students like themselves are featured in the video.

I will use this informational video to show children the recycling process. The video follows recycle products from leaving the hands of the owner, all the way through the waste center. It is a good video because it is something that takes the attention away from a lecture for a short amount of time.

This animated science movie for Kindergarten to 3rd grade classes helps students understand magnets, magnetic fields, and poles. The video explains many things about magnets including that magnets attract things that are made of iron and have two poles. I chose this because it touches on so many facts about magnets in one fun video. I would use this video to introduce the idea of how magnets work and what uses they have.

This is just a video that you could show at the beginning of a lesson about food chains and how they work to keep our world going and to get students engaged.

This is a game/video that shows the food chain. It also uses a fun video and scenario to get the students engaged. I would use this as class and have it on the projector. I like the story line that goes along with the game.

Love the video, which could be used as a good review, or in segments along with instruction and experiments on the individual phases of matter. Very kid-relevant and scientifically correct, including temperature and molecule movement, using the analogy of "teams" of molecules.

This is a music video about the sun. It talks about the many characteristics of the sun, like how hot the sun is or how far away from us it is. I selected this video because it was very informative, it had an inviting art style, and the song was really catchy. I personally found the song to sound just like things kids listen to today like the "Everything is Awesome" song from the Lego Movie. I think this video is going to show up a lot in my future classroom. I think it will engage the students as well as spark some interests in Astronomy.

This is an entire unit on wetlands and it is completely free. There are five lessons on wetlands that each build on one another. I really like how the first lesson relies solely on the student's senses to experience wetlands. There are activities for each of the five senses that really get children engaged and in tune to what a wetland is. The second lesson teaches about different types of wetlands and includes a game to help learn them. Lesson three is great because it pairs this ecology lesson on wetlands with an English lesson on metaphors. It even includes objectives with measurable verbs, There are also great extension activities included! Each lesson in this unit plan has at least one video paired with it. I really like when there are videos provided, because teachers don'e have to use them, but they may if they choose. I would certainly use some of the videos that I thought would help better explain the context of the lesson, so visual and auditory learners would be able to better grasp the content. I could certainly see myself using this lesson in my future classroom. Especially since it is for upper elementary and middle school which are my ideal age group.
