Remix Culture: Part 1 of 3. At about 8 minutes this is a great intro to remix culture.  What is remix culture?  From my point of view, it is the recontextualization of information which results in increased meaning.  By drawing upon part of our shared cultural heritage (a song or video) and mashing it up with either another part of our shared culture or content created by yourself (or friends),  people are now able to leverage both content areas to make ultra rich content. Kind of like when you watch "The Wizard of Oz" and listen to "Dark Side of the Moon"

Not exactly sure here, but a project to have students talking with older generations about places in history and documenting on a global map their shared stories? Seems like it read my mind!

I had wanted to share this with kindergarten/first grade teachers but website was down last week. Great videos at the bottom showing snippets from the classrooms of ten teachers that have consistently "beat the odds" with their student outcomes.
