Therefore, technology is a component of providing occupational therapy services across practice arenas.

this was a good instructional video for taking a clients blood pressure. I found it interesting that the stethoscope actually has an off position that you need to be aware of, I did not realize that.

This is a really good video on how to take blood pressure. If you need to brush up on it, I would advice viewing this. It is a good one to reference back to if you don't take blood pressure often and need a review.

Edema control for the hands were discussed in lab, but I was not quit sure if there was anything else that could help. So this video discusses about messaging techniques for the hand and forearm that can help reduce edema. Also, she talks about specific wraps for different sections of the arm. This video is not long, but this video helped me see how an OTA would educated a patient on this process for self independence.

This video is a little long but it is very descriptive and shows exactly how the instructions are supposed to be told to the pt. Watching other people helps me remember better, maybe it will help you also!

I really liked this article because it goes into detail about several different PAMs. But it also goes on to explain in more detail how it should be used as a preparatory activity, and also has different principles to follow when administering or when giving certain tasks to others. I think this is definitely a very good article to have access to that talks about all aspects of using PAMs in therapy.

This site gives a general overview of infection control. It does not go into specifics but I liked it because it shares many links about many different aspects of infection control. I like that I can go to this page, get a general understanding and then have so many more links in one place for my access.

This article is about a man that knew he needed a hip replacement, but dreaded the long recovery of having one. He talked with a surgeon that recommended using an anterior approach for his surgery because it required much less muscle to be cut through. As a result of using the anterior approach, he had an extremely quick recovery and was able to resume all his favorite actives.
