New TV Series Features Young Adults With Down Syndrome - 0 views

  •
The production company behind "Keeping up with the Kardashians" and other reality television staples will debut a new documentary series following young adults with Down syndrome. The six-episode series "Born This Way" will air on A&E Network starting Dec. 8 at 10 p.m. ET.----- I am anxious to see this show! I hope they portray it in a way that isn't dramatic and fake like all the other reality tv shows. I feel this show has to opportunity to show people more into the life of someone who lives with a disability! I know I'll be watching...anyone else?

How Does Yoga Help Arthritis - 0 views

  •
Interesting information and such a proactive treatment for clients at home! Yoga can help to relieve arthritis pain by creating more mobility in the joints and flexibility in the muscles around the joints. While pain should be respected, this article does point out the "use it or lose it" idea. Not to mention the other benefits Yoga would offer, such as deep breathing to reduce stress.

Median Nerve Gliding - 0 views

This is a very good video demonstrating median nerve gliding. I found this very interesting because I have been told I have problems with my nerves in the same area. I am starting to wonder if this is something I may benefit from.

Very helpful video! I am gonna try it. I have alot of neck pain anyway, and I think this may help me? If not, maybe I will at least get a good stretch out of it. :)

Homemade Night Splint - 0 views

  •
Immobilizing your hand at night can be very crucial for some patients. I thought this website on how to make a homemade splint was very interesting and quite simple to make. I would recommend asking the doctor or therapist before using it, But some people prefer to do for themselves and this could be a good thing for that. Also you could incorporate the splint making in an actual therapeutic activity.
