Video games have made incredible strides over the past decade. Improvements were made in game play, controls, story telling, graphics, and of course multiplayer modes. While the Internet has changed video games, mostly for the better, the big three home consoles, Nintendo Wii, Playstation 3, and X Box 360 offer some horsepower for video gamers of all ages. These Games Lived Up to the Standards of Their Predecessors

When it comes to video games, the choices are almost innumerable. Even within a certain genre, many great games vie for your dollar. All of these choices make picking a top game extremely difficult, even from within a genre.

When video game consoles leaped into the 16 bit age my friend and I each got a different console. My friend decided to go with boring old Mario and the Super Nintendo. I decided to go with the much cooler Sega Genesis. For the next several years we debated which one was better, but there was no debate. The video game sales said it all. I've only been taking into account video games that sold over 1 million copies because it's easiest to find information on those video games. Some of you reading this are going to remember weekends and summer vacations spent in front of the living room TV with the clickity-clack of your Super NES controller buttons firing away as you fought desperately against the friend sitting next to you, the insults that your mother never quite understood flying between you, and the victory slam of your fist in the air accompanying the shouts of superior skills. I remember my first video game experience - camped out in front of my best friend's Nintendo playing Megaman 3 while he played. It was something that absolutely dazzled my mind, and several years later for Christmas, my parents bought my brother and me a Nintendo 64 - complete with Mario 64.
