Two main groups of people can't live without electronic translators.\nThe first group are students who are studying in a foreign language. More often than not, English is their second language (ESL) and being able to look up words quickly is essential to student success. Electronic translators are super fast, and students with electronic translators look up more words more often than people with paper translation dictionaries.

I work with adult migrants and they live with their non-English speaking families. Therefore, unlike children of native English speaking families, these adults are not surrounded by rich English words that are full of meaning. We might say to a child "put your toys away" and they won't understand, so we do it for them. However, we started doing it when they were 8 months old, and after a few more months, they understand what it means.

"Introduction In recent years, the world has witnessed a growing wave of local initiatives in support of public schools. Teachers, cultural associations and civil society have been playing an active part in grassroots experiments aimed at helping schools in the creative elaboration of new educational methods, also exploiting information technologies.
