Montreal-based artist Kevin Ledo uses images of world famous fashion icons such as Dior, Calvin Klein, Jean-Paul Gaultier, Prada and Louis Vuitton to draw parallels between modern fashion and Christian art from European medieval times. Coolhunting notes Ledo does this by, "transposing methods of religious paintings into an advertising context".

For 16 days straight, from dawn to dusk, five highly determined Montreal-based artists (who make up the artist run collective A'shop) worked on a graffiti mural of a Mother Nature-esque Madonna or a modern-day version of "Our Lady of Grace." Inspired by Czech Art Nouveau painter Alphonse Mucha, the crew created this breathtakingly beautiful five story mural using 500 cans of spray paint in over 50 different colors.
New Manic Doodles from Sagaki KEITA - Tribute to MICHELANGELO - 0 views

Sagaki Keita (previously) has updated his website with no less than a dozen new works completed this year alone. Keita continues his method of using manically scribbled doodles to create mind-melting illustrations of classic Roman statues. That he could create a single one of these in a year would impress me, but twelve seems simply inhuman.
Sagaki KEITA - Tribute to Leonardo DA VINCI - 0 views

Artist Sagaki Keita was born in 1984 and lives and works in Tokyo. His densely composited pen and ink illustrations contain thousands of whimsical characters that are drawn almost completely improvised. I am dumbstruck looking at these and love the wacky juxtaposition of fine art and notebook doodles.
