Marble Math - Math Practice on iPads - 0 views

  •
From iPad Apps for School: "Marble Math is a fun mathematics game for kids to play on their iPads. The game has students practice basic multiplication problems through a maze layout. Students are given multiplication problems to solve by rolling their marbles through mazes that contain the correct answers. Students have to avoid the incorrect answers while moving their marbles toward the correct answers. Some of the mazes contain additional obstacles to avoid while searching for the correct answer. Students earn points for each maze they solve. When they reach 2,000 points (ten-fifteen correctly solved mazes) students earn a new marble."

Motion Math - iPad Math Games for Kids - 4 views

Semi-independent research on the use of Motion Math in a classroom shows significant results in both math performance and self-efficacy. It's important to note that this research was partially funded by Motion Math, and it's not a peer-reviewed study. Still, though, the results are intriguing. The Wired review of the study: http://www.wired.com/geekdad/2011/12/motion-math-education-research/ The GameDesk writeup: http://www.gamedesk.org/projects/motion-math-in-class/ The GameDesk full study: http://www.gamedesk.org/reports/MM_FINAL_REPORT.pdf

The Padagogy Wheel … it's a Bloomin' Better Way to Teach - 2 views

  •
Great pedagogy tool to help you design enhanced learning experiences for your students with the iPad. Apps are recommended for each level of Bloom's Taxonomy along with suggested learning activities. From the article: "I have added 62 iPad apps to the wheel and put them where they could serve the pedagogy. These are not necessarily the best app for the job and many of the apps can be used in different realms but it is a good start. I hope it helps you rethink the iPad's use in Learning and Teaching… it is not about the tool nor the app … it's all about the students."
