one thing I have noticed when it comes to integrating information communication technologies (ICT), is that the teachers and the schools that really fly, the high performing schools...they don't come to my PD. They don't go to any PD. They understand that they, and their professional networks, are their own PD.

Review of social networks that are listed as Child-friendly and designed for schools.

"The iPad running Air Display works like any monitor on the Mac, and is configurable using the standard OS X Display Preferences .. it is the equivalent of buying a new monitor for your Mac."

A pricy but very handy app for the iPad that works over a wireless connection. Although the review talks about OSX, this also works with a Windows desktop.

A PLN is one of the best ways to grow as a learner and teacher because you are exposed to so many new ideas and teaching resources.

With support from the MacArthur Foundation, the GoodPlay project explores the ethical character of young people's activities in the new digital media. We seek to understand how young people conceptualize their participation in virtual worlds and the ethical considerations that guide their conduct. We are exploring five themes which we believe to be undergoing reformulation in the digital age, with implications for ethics-identity, privacy, ownership and authorship, credibility, and participation.
