A brilliant, easy to use short film/animation site. Excellent for unit intros, transition activities etc. Make your own film in no more than 60 seconds - so easy.

A pretty cool website which allows kids to create their own volcano! Kids can change the viscosity and gas levels to create different types of volcanoes

A great article outlining some essential skills that we may take for granted, but that every student/teacher should know (but might not). Do any schools have a list like the one discussed in this blog entry?

I can see this would be useful to use when exploring language at the word level. A great way to make visual links between and amongst words.

I was just wondering which google apps people are making use of in their classrooms or for professional/personal use. A couple of questions I am thinking about at the moment are: 1. Should we be giving students experience with public access tools such as these so that they can take the skills they learn with them rather than the skills they learn specific to Myclasses/myinternet? 2. With myclasses etc perhaps being phased out/modified/replaced at some stage is this a viable alternative that could be used instead?

Make web based screen casts that can be used everywhere

Clay yourself is another website you can use for creating virtual avatars, with a twist. Using this website, you not only can create your Avatars, but you can also record a 'script' which will prompt the students to enter vowels, adjectives, nouns etc to make a funny story which they can then record and share it in a gallery.
