RubiStar is a free tool to help teachers create their own grading rubrics. You can save and edit your rubrics online and access them from any computer. Teachers can use this to create rubrics specific to their needs and be able to change them accordingly, throughout the school year.

faceinhole.com is a fun site with famous pictures of celebrities, movie scenes, music album covers, magazine covers, and more. Each picture has a hole where a face belongs. You can upload a digital photo of yourself and crop it to fit in the hole you chose. You can also post your creation to a blog. These can be done for fun or you can have students create one and tie it into subject matter. For example, they could create a picture of themselves and then use that picture and setting to write a story, using the particular writing elements in your classroom.

Smilebox is a fun web site where you can upload your digital photos to create slideshows, ecards, photoalbums, and postcards. You can also add music to them. Then you can email your creations or add them to a blog. It can be used for personal use or you can have students create photo albums or slideshows relating to a particular area of study, to show what they have learned or to teach a concept to others.

Blogger is a free site for blogging in just three easy steps: create an account, name the blog, and choose a template. It is one of the most popular blog creation sites. Choose a discussion topic and have students blog about it.

This web site helps you easily create a free online blog. You can use it showcase information about your classroom, such as photos, email links, student work, assignments/homework, and much more. Students can also create their own blog, to showcase their work, writing, what they've learned and technology experience.

This site will help user create correct citations for bibliography pages. The user simply inserts the information and EasyBib will create the citation. This is great for student or writer to use for correct work cited pages.

Skype has the potential to improve class participation and collaboration. It can also help cut costs by providing free voice and video calling to other Skype users worldwide. Some uses of the platform include multi-class and cross-district collaboration, professional development, and virtual field trips.

Plotbot is a web-based collaborative screenwriting application where you can write a screenplay with as many or as few people as you like. Adopting the wiki approach to screenwriting, each element is editable by any member of a project. You can also comment on, delete or restore any element. Good to use in a safe, closed classroom environment.

This site takes uploaded digital pictures and places them into a video set to music of your choosing. This is a fabulous tool to use in the classroom for various presentations. Everything from book reports to science presentations to classroom exhibitions can be shared using this site. The sky truly is the limit.

This site allows teachers, students, or others to create presentations that can include multiple websites, photos, ect. The Flowgram also allows you to narrate throught your project to assist students or give them more information. This would be a great tool for assisting students in research project or a great tool for students to use when giving a presentation.

This is a site that can be used to make your own comic books. At the bottom right hand corner there is a link that if for schools, stating, Learning with Comics. This could be a great way to work with elementary readers to create their own interesting storyboards.

Audacity can be used for many things. One thing that I want to use Audacity for is for my struggling readers and those students that have difficulty retelling what they read. How I will use Audacity is to have students read a passage and then with Audacity retell everything they can remember. After retelling they will listen to themselves on Audacity and highlight everything in their passage. This will also them to reflect on their own skills.

This site provides teachers with suggestions on how to integrate video production into the curriculum. It explores the world of media literacy. This would be a great tool to use with struggling readers needing that extra motivation. After students have completed the task there is even a place where kids can get advice from other kids.

This site is a kid-safe search engine that is powered by google. It combines the google safe search with their own restricted elements. It also allows teachers to remove sites if desired. Great for elementary research projects.

This site is a Web-based aggregator which allows you to create a webpage where personalized RSS (Really Simple Syndication) feeds can be collected on one site. The possibilities are endless in a classroom. Students can comment on a topic and share their opinions with others. The site could also be a place for students to listen to book talks by students, the library media specialist, or teacher.

You can use this tool for digital storytelling. This blogging service is intended for classroom use only. Blog accounts are created by the classroom teacher. Teachers may use this service for professional blog publishing functions, and to manage and publish student writings. The teacher may add students as class users on their blog.

Myplick is a free service that lets you share, embed and discover presentations and slide shows online. You can upload your presentation documents in a variety of formats such as powerpoint, pdf, etc. If you want to add narration or sound effect to your presentation, you can upload an audio file and have the option to synchronize the audio with your slides. After you create a presentation you will have the choice to either publicly share with everyone or only share it within a private group. You can also find out how users are viewing your plick, for example, how much time people stayed on each slide. This would be a good way for students to share their presentations with others.

This site allows a person to submit a written piece to be edited for grammar, spelling, punctuation, etc. by a team of professional writers. This would be a great site for anyone anytime including the classroom.
