Free, user-friendly blogging site. I used this site with 3rd graders. They caught on very quickly and wanted to blog every day. Very easy for the teacher to set up and maintain. Great for private classroom use.

The directions are easy: Upload your files from your desktop, edit and view your docs from any computer or smart phone. This is a great resource for teachers and students as the students can work on an assignment from their computer at home and the teacher can access it and see how they are doing.

I have used this for my 5th graders. We have our own web page, and I can put links and assignments on it for them to access. I actually have it set as the home page on all of the desktops in my classroom.

WePapers helps students and others share and expand their knowledge for free. You can find and download papers and documents you need in a matter of seconds, discuss them with others, or just mess around. WePapers is where you find the kind of quality information you wouldn't find anywhere else on the web, the kind of papers you'd have to dig for in dusty library basements and still not find what you're looking for. WePapers is one big study group! Universities are even using it for class-notes and articles. I could see using this in a classroom situation for research papers and the such. Students would have the opportunity to connect with others around the world, get help, and feedback from others just like them.

This site let's you download, share and organize information. Sign up is free and if have a facebook account you do not have to sign up.

This tool allows the user to download a book to your IPod for students or kids to listen to. This would be great for the reluntant readers or ones who struggle with reading. This site would be a great addition to the classroom.

AudibleKids allows you to purchase an audible version of books. They are fairly expense but would be worth the money if it was a download you knew you would use repeatedly. This could be especially helpful when making adaptations and modifications for lower level readers. The other thing I really liked is that you can listen to a short samples for free.

I use this to buy audio books for both personal and school use. If you buy a lot of audio books, they have membership packages which can allow you to buy books for about $7. That's a great price!

This tool allows the user to create powerpoint presentations and share them on the internet. Once the presentations were created, they could be accessed from anywhere. This could be easily used in the classroom.

This is a great tool for holding group conversations. It is a "collaborative, multimedia slideshow." You can add images, documents and videos. The creator can leave comments and doodle on top of the media as they comment. The user can then share their voicethread with others. Those who view the voice thread can add comments too. There are numerous ways to use this tool in the classroom!

A VoiceThread is a free collaborative multimedia slideshow that can contain images, documents, and videos. Viewers can leave comments via voice, text, audio file, or video. There are many ways to use this site: post a picture and have students record their thoughts; create a digital story with images, text, and voice; upload pictures of American Revolutionary heroes and have students record their research.

This is a great collection of videos done by teachers on numerous topics. You can also upload your own videos to share with others. This has several applications.

This website has a lot of different videos, pictures, audio. etc that could be used in the classroom. All you have to do is type in what you want to search, and you will be amazed with what comes up! For example, I typed in "The Water Cycle" and had 10 different videos pop up!

Assign-A-Day is a free tool designed to enhance teacher and student communication through an online teacher-managed calendar. Teachers create a calendar for each of their classes and add assignments for the students to view. Students view their teachers' calendars in order to see assignments for classes they might have missed, or to get an overview of the class.

This site allows the user to enter a vocabulary list and create flashcards, take tests and much more over the words. User can share the words with others via the internet. Retesting is possible. This would be great for students to use to help study vocabulary and learn new words.

This site offers many set of "flashcards" and allows you to create you own. It then creates games for you to play to learn your vocabulary.

This website allows both teachers and students to create virtual flashcards using classroom concepts. Students can also use the flashcards to study by playing games and taking quizzes.

Scratch is a programming language that allows students (ages 8 and up) to create interactive stories, animations, and games online. These creations can be shared on the web. This would be great to use in the classroom for the development of 21st Century skills. Students learn math skills, creative thinking, reasoning, and how to work with others.

Create flow-charts, diagrams, even floor plans! This tool makes it very easy to create great looking diagrams. In the classroom the students could design K-W-L charts and all types of graphic organizers. This could be added to a blog and look really professional. This tool could be used in a whole group or individual manner! Only negative is you can only have a free 30 day trial and then you have to pay a fee!

This interactive website teaches students how the Pilgrims lived to celebrate The First Thanksgiving. It gives a real life look at the Mayflower and what life was like aboard the ship (far from a cruise ship), what life was like once the Pilgrims arrived in America, and how the Indians helped the Pilgrims survive. This has great information and activities. I use it every year in my classroom. It has different grade levels of information (PK-12).

Digital Media for Teachers is an extensive library full of resources for classroom use or professional development.

This website offers a collection of educational videos, lessons, and games for students. There is content appropriate for K-12 students. There are a variety of videos organized by topics on the site. I think this could be a helpful site to use if you are looking for material to supplement a lesson or activity in your classroom.

This website offers a great collection of educational games, specifically math and language arts, for students from kindergarten through grade six. The site was created by professional educators and offers games that students would enjoy, but also learn from completing. The site also offers homework help and printable worksheets.

This site has lots of research, hints and FAQ's about block scheduling. It would be helpful for planning a schedule change, finding staff development ideas, or improving teaching methods.

Links to lots of different sources on the web. I looked specifically at the Spanish sites and found quizzes, rubrics, and lots of resources.

If you are a listmaker, check out this website. You can make personalized lists or chose from premade lists created by others. Everything from traveling, chores, homework, and groceries. Perhaps a disorganized student could benefit from trying this out?
