This would be a good collaboration tool for the classroom.

There is a way to join the site so that it becomes a social networking site. There is also a workspace for you to add information that you want to keep track of, Blogs, and a way to make a group. It only has 35 members so if you like smaller more imitate sites then this is one for you.
