My Note It - 0 views

  •
Do you ever have a hard time getting notes to students who have missed class? Or, do you not trust them to get the right information from other students? You can either have students upload notes to this site, or you can upload your notes to let your students view them if they missed a class or to review before an exam. My students will enjoy this much more than trying to find a trustworthy friend to borrow notes from!

To-Do-List - 0 views

  •
Those of you that work in smaller districts and are in charge of several clubs or organizations can probably relate to making a multitude of "to-do-lists". Remember the milk is a way for you to create to-do-lists online that you can access anywhere and can even download the application to your iPhone!

In helping students prepare for the future this would be an excellent tool to help them create a quality resume without having to understand the sometimes complex parts of Microsoft Word such as tabs, indents, etc. This site would allow students to create multiple resumes for free!

Budget Pulse - 1 views

This site is not necessarily for students - unless they are working and saving for college, but I think this would be very useful for a lot of us, who live on a budget! I am currently planning my wedding, remodeling a house, and still trying to save money and am extremely excited to give this site a try! This is a personal finance software that helps you to manage your finances for multiple accounts, but it will all be in one place now! You can also print charts, track your progress and see where you can save money.

GradeFix - 0 views

GradeFix is an online homework planner for students to use. They can keep track of homework, exams, papers, and even due dates. I think this would be an awesome resource for High School Students to use. One downside -- the cost of this site is $5/month, however, if they invite a friend it is free AND if they do some sort of graphic design for the site they can also get it for free -- so for those students that could use the extra push to be organized this would be a great site!

Google Docs - 0 views

  •
The directions are easy: Upload your files from your desktop, edit and view your docs from any computer or smart phone. This is a great resource for teachers and students as the students can work on an assignment from their computer at home and the teacher can access it and see how they are doing.
  •
I have used this for my 5th graders. We have our own web page, and I can put links and assignments on it for them to access. I actually have it set as the home page on all of the desktops in my classroom.

NoodleTools : MLA, APA, and Chicago/Turabian Bibliography Composer, Online Notecards - 0 views

  •
    MLA writing format site
  •
I am a little iffy about this site being interactive enough to be considered 2.0, but if you are teaching writing to older students, it is pretty nice. There are bibliography makers and tutorials so... I hope it is considered a 2.0 Web site :-)

This one seems like it could be a double edged sword, but MAY be appropriate for Jr.'s and Sr.'s. I am thinking especially for the kids who are in vocational classes. It would be a good way to reach out to communities of people that are already in the field. They could talk to others who are out there right now, doing what they are thinking that they want to do.

ToonDoo - The Cartoon Strip Creator - Create, Publish, Share, Discuss! - 2 views

    cartoon maker

This site is really fun, and I think it would work for ALL ages:-) When I use it is when the kids are learning about a plot graph. We will read a short story that has clear elements (exposition, complications, etc), then the kids will have to change the story into their own words, showing me in each cartoon slide, that they understand what those elements are.

GoAnimate - Make your own cartoons - 0 views

  •
This allows a person to express themselves through animation. This would be useful to help the reluctant students who have trouble expressing themselves to others. Students could use this for projects and presentations.
  •
On GoAnimate you can make your own animated characters, direct your own cartoons and watch others' creations. It's easy and free! I think this would be a fun way to allow students the creative freedom to construct graphic-novel-type book reports or fictional stories. This would also be a wonderful way for students to retell the plot line of the story for the class.

Wallwisher.com: Words that stick - 0 views

  •
This is an online notice board maker where you can post announcements, greetings, jokes; just about anything you would want to put on a Post It. I think this would be a great tool for students to use in a note taking assignment. This would be fun to collaborate multiple students' posts and try to combine them randomly to create a funny poem or short story.

Geni - Free Online Family Trees - 1 views

  •
This is for anyone who spends anytime working on their family tree. It is very easy to use and you are able to add pictures. This would work great for a family tree project in class. It also has places to create timelines, which would be a great social studies project.
  •
great for family tree project in Spanish class
  •
With Geni, you can build your family tree, invite relatives to collaborate, preserve your family history, discover new relatives, share family photos and videos, and remember birthdays and anniversaries. Geni is private and secure. Only the people in your family can see your tree. I think this would be a wonderful tool to help teach research and organizational skills in a very secure and controlled environment.

Blabberize.com - Got a picture? Blabberize it! - 0 views

  •
Lets you take pictures (your own or others) and makes them talk.
  •
This is a bit like an avatar but it is more funny. Sometimes (If I can get lab time) I will let my kids do an "oral presentation" by using blaberize. There are lots of rules of course, but it is fun seeing them up on the smart board and the kids can get a little goofy with it.
