PBwiki is for teachers, students, and parents. It lets you create a simple, secure wiki in about 60 seconds. You can make your wiki public or private. You can also embed video & audio, add tags, RSS, and full page revisions, see who changed what, and automatically reverse any changes. It also has access controls. This would be a good collaboration tool for the classroom.

This is for anyone who spends anytime working on their family tree. It is very easy to use and you are able to add pictures. This would work great for a family tree project in class. It also has places to create timelines, which would be a great social studies project.

Geni is private and secure. Only the people in your family can see your tree. I think this would be a wonderful tool to help teach research and organizational skills in a very secure and controlled environment.

What girl doesn't love shoes! This site is fun to rate, read about, and watch videos about shoes! It also gives places to find the shoes you like at low costs. It's not necessarily an educational tool, but lots of fun, none the less.

Some uses of the platform include multi-class and cross-district collaboration, professional development, and virtual field trips.

This would be a great tool for teachers/students to use to organize photos and videos for classroom projects. These can be shared on the web or securely and privately. Notes, comments, and tags can be added to each photo and video by the teacher and all the classmates.

Flickr allows you to share your photos with anyone. This could be helpful in the classroom to share class photos with all of the families.

Glogster lets you create a glog or an "interactive poster," that is, in effect, a personal Web page complete with embedded media links, sound, and video capabilities. Students can work with Glogster individually or as a group to create presentations, share information, and interact with their peers. Glogster now provides master-accounts for teachers integrating all student accounts. This is a very cool classroom tool.

HotChalk is a curriculum, planning, assessment, and professional development site for teachers, students, and parents. This site offers videos and other content information. It also allows teachers to put assignments online. The site claims to reduce plan time because of the wonderful resources for lesson planning it offers but I think I would spend some up front time getting everything figured out. The professional development resources are also very helpful. Users can save information in their desk, library, and class. Initial registration was free.

It includes several useful features and customizable themes, plus, it is ready made for podcasting, videos, photos and more. Edublogs also gives great tips on how to use blogs to revolutionize the way you teach and how your students learn.

Edublogs is an easy to use blogging program created specifically for teachers and students. You can manage your students involvement and participation at any time. I have created an eudcation blog, but in a math classroom, it doesn't get used very often. I do know teachers who use a blog consistently.

EduGlogster is a great presentation tool. It helps you create online "posters" and allows for an easy way for students to make presentations. The nice thing about EduGlogster over Glogster is that it is teacher monitored, so inappropriate content will be limited. If you sign up soon, you can get 200 student accounts. Before too much longer it's going to be limited to 100.
