This site gives us a quick overview of what web 2.0 is doing and where it is taking us with technology. It is a video that shows us how far we have come since 1996 working with HTML and now working so much with digital.

LearningTimes.org is an open community for education and training professionals. Members have free access to a wide range of opportunities to interact and network with peers from across the globe. Member activities include live webcasts and interviews with industry leaders, online debates and discussions, live coverage of industry conferences, and international working groups. The LearningTimes.org community also features free group collaboration tools, such as virtual meeting rooms, a site-wide instant messenger, and virtual office suites, making it a vital place on the web for thousands of education professionals to meet and interact at any time. This would be good for my school and district. It would be a good place to collaborate and interact with each other.

Connect with other educators to share ideas and resources. Scholastic provides teachers with so many great tools. I haven't used TeacherShare yet, but I could see it beneficial for all teachers because you are able to connect with great teachers all over the world. There are so many great ideas!

This article takes a slightly different spin on the "How to work with teachers to help them integrate technology" aspect: It looks at it from the perspective of the teacher and putting some of the responsibility on them to take advantage of the Tech Coordinator as a resource.

WePapers helps students and others share and expand their knowledge for free. You can find and download papers and documents you need in a matter of seconds, discuss them with others, or just mess around. WePapers is where you find the kind of quality information you wouldn't find anywhere else on the web, the kind of papers you'd have to dig for in dusty library basements and still not find what you're looking for. WePapers is one big study group! Universities are even using it for class-notes and articles. I could see using this in a classroom situation for research papers and the such. Students would have the opportunity to connect with others around the world, get help, and feedback from others just like them.

This is a great site for any classroom teacher. The site is intended to link curriculum with computers to engage students. The curriculum is K-12 and all subjects. The site has ready to use content and works well with any Interactive White Board. This site does cost around $50, but has a 30 day free trial to make sure it will be useful to you.

Has many great ideas and programs to use in class. I like the engrade program.

This was a great site I stumbled across last Fall. Great uses and great tools to search for curriculum, along with connecting with other teachers.

A wiki is a page or collection of Web pages designed to enable anyone who accesses it to contribute or modify content. Wikis are often used to create collaborative websites and to power community websites. Wikispaces then, is built to work anywhere, anytime. All you need is a web browser and an Internet connection. Members can create pages and spaces without undue restrictions or rules. Guests can edit pages without creating an account. Wiki pages are fully internationalized, so you can contribute content in any language you like. Wikispaces gives groups the freedom to publish pages that are long-lived, regularly updated, and built by many contributors. It gives you the space to both publish and discuss content, without tangling the two together. Wikispaces is designed to be usable for everyone. A visual editor is utilized to let you see the layout and design of your page while you're editing it. No technical knowledge is required. And Wikispaces is fast even in large communities with lots of activity.

This site is a great place to start using wikis. Wikis allow you to post information and collaborate with others on topics. By allowing others to see the wiki you have created, they have the opportunity to edit the information and add to it. This would be a great way to work with others via the internet. This site allows for a lot of possibilities.

Create and discover social networks for your interests. Connect with people that have the same ideas, beliefs, concerns etc. Create a page that centers around you. This could be used in education to connect to your students and incorporate technology into the classroom. This site could be used in multiple ways within your classroom and district. This would be a great way to connect with your students. I believe that allowing your students to chat on a site like Ning would make them more likely to participate in classroom discussion. Sites like these are the things that our students do everyday.

The Education Podcast Network is an effort to bring together into one place, the wide range of podcast programming that may be helpful to teachers looking for content to teach with and about, and to explore issues of teaching and learning in the 21st century.

This is a PBS site about media literacy. It has teacher resources and professional development ideas related to media literacy.

This site offers so much. The teacher activity packs allow teachers to upload lessons, links, and activities to their own websites. There is a PD section with online courses for teachers. Lesson ideas are connected to standards and are available for many different grades.

A site full of lessons that can be categorized by grade levels and topics. With each category there is a "professional development" tab with great instruction and ideas.

Wordle is a toy for generating "word clouds" from text that you provide. Larger words indicate the those used more frequently in the text. You can tweak your clouds with different fonts, layouts, and color schemes. The images you create with Wordle are yours to use however you like. You can print them out, or save them to the Wordle gallery to share with your friends.

This is a simple but clever tool that will take words or passages and randomly create a poster. This would be a good thing to generate word walls for vocabulary or even to do a passage that one might use to emphasize a theme or style.

4Teachers.org: Helping Teachers Integrate Technology into the Classroom. This site includes many tools that can be used in the classroom. There are also several links that include helpful information. I would recommend this site to teachers interested in learning more about integrating technology.

This is a website dedicated to help teachers integrate technology into the classroom by offering online tools and resources. This site helps teachers locate and create ready-to-use Web lessons, quizzes, rubrics and classroom calendars. I think any teacher who wants to teach with the current tools should look at some of the ideas given at this website.

SC EdTech offers content and activities that span all areas of educational technology with diverse workshops, presentations, speakers, exhibitors, and recognition events.

Savevid.com works well with YouTube and several other sites that I have downloaded video from. I found that the video can be downloaded as an mp4, mp3, a flv, HD or computer, IPod, burn DVD's and more. Downloading, burning or embedding video into PowerPoints or SmartBoard lessons has become something I do on a regular basis and more reliable than hyperlinks.

Excellent source for spicing up the bland research project! Teachers can grade and comment on project before it is uploaded to the web. Students can create a project such as research on a topic, locate images that are uploaded to each 'side' of the cube, create a Word document with their research info and upload it too! Even interactive hyperlinks can be imbedded into the cube.

Great site for sharing your book reccommendations with students, parents, and colleagues. Kind of like Facebook for book worms.
