Bright ideas is a blog where school library staff share ideas on how they can use Web 2.0 tools in their library and in their school. Tons of links and resources for book reviews, collaborative tools, Creative Commons websites, cybersafety, e-books and magazines, e-portfolios, feature use of Web 2.0 tools, and much more. This site was the first runner up in the 2009 Edublog Awards for Best Library Blog.

This blog was started by a staff devleopment team at Austin Community College. It would be a great place for librarians to find professional development opportunities specific to libraries. The site offers information on webinar dates, library-related conferences, e-learning, etc. It is a site I want to return to so I can explore free professional devleopment opportunities for librarians!

I have been impressed with this site. The assessment is a great tool. As a future TIS, I know I will use this to help assess where the school district staff needs are.

I like this blog because it incorporates professional development as well as many other hot topics in education. There are blogs about technology, staff training and conferences, and about funding issues. This is a good resource for any educator.

You've got to check this one out, especially if you are or plan to be an elementary school librarian. This librarian, Keisa Williams, has such great ideas. She even talks about some of the professional development she has done with the staff. Awesome!

From the Apple Learning Interchange website. It showcases podcasts created by "Apple Distinguished Educators". There is a contents bar on the right side with topics such as Staff Development, Student Instruction, Elementary, Middle, High School, or Higher Education.

National professional development standards guidelines.

This is a site you have to pay to have access to, but I think some of the courses have real merit for classroom teachers. This would be a neat way for teachers to inidividualize their professional development time.

Youtube can be used in so many different ways. Not only can you borrow someone's youtube for a presentation or lesson but it allows you to download your own video for a lesson or presentation. This is a great way to present a lesson, use as a resource for students and staff members or have students and teachers download their own presentation for class!
