Unit of work for Second Classroom Project. Students undertake a PBL task using Skoolaborate (http://www.skoolaborate.com) as thier presentation tool. Uses Group Ning for journal and student blog, Group FlickR to document progress. Project could also work using Google Sketch Up and Voice Thread. Final project solutions will be rezzed in Second Life on the Island of Jokadia for external viewing by PBL teachers. Time frame 6 weeks. Project Based Learning is an instructional approach built upon authentic learning activities that engage student interest and motivation. From High Tech High, San Diego In the project "Maxed Out," students spent six weeks learning about the credit card industry. They derived formulas to model credit card debt, and also researched various tactics employed by credit card companies to recruit and deceive customers. Each group of 2 to 4 students then chose how to create public awareness of the potential dangers of credit cards. The final projects are very diverse, ranging from websites to films to rap videos. The role of a mother has rapidly changed over the time. If we draw a picture of a mother before independence time, we will see a mere female draped in a cotton saree, furrows on her forehead, scrimping while purchasing grocery and endless shouting on her kids. But, when we talk about today's mother, she is mentally strong, powerful, quick-decision maker, of course with endless love in her heart for her kids.
