This article is second in a series about eLearning and Project Management, and I chose to post this because it really points out the similarities between IDs and PMs while really emphasizing the role of the ID.

I liked this article with it's straightforward language and steps that make sense. Not only are the concrete requirements such as budget and tools discussed, but the often overlooked teamwork and leader roles are covered. Also on this site are related articles from "An Introduction to Project Management", "The Role of the Project Manager" and many others.

that was a great article. I link the simplification of project management ins beining defined through the who, what, when, where and how. Also they discuss getting participants to commit, that is important or they will not do their part in the project. thanks for sharing.

I like the reminder of several basic but easily forgotten tips. Writing down the objective is key for me. I can become a little too creative at times and end up distracted from the main goal. I like to keep it in sight throughout the entire process. Thanks for a great article!

I have a hard time deciding whether "versus" is a good word to compare the two roles. On one hand, the project manager and business analyst should be working collaboratively. On the other hand, the two roles do offer a healthy contest in project related decisions.

D-cube! Design, Develop, Deploy. I like this simplified version of ADDIE. It fits with rapid design and since the only way we know if a product works is to test it, then you might as well get it out the door and get some feedback which you can then feed into the iterative process of making it better.

Here is a link to a waterfall PM model. Although maybe over simplistic, I like the fact that is suggests a phase can't start until a the previous is completed. You also find the spiral model that suggests that we go through specific phases again and again-at first take, I find this spiral model a bit worrisome. It lacks defined milestones and benchmarks, and perhaps it implies a ambiguity when it comes to roles.

I love this approach to communication! I've used in all aspects of my work and personal communications and when I really implement it has really helped me navigate some high conflict situations. It does take practice and is easier to work with if you have others you can engage with to practice the techniques.
