This is very similar to Trello and is a web app. It allows a PM or project staff to track requirements, meetings, commitments, new ideas, etc. Acceptable for the Agile methodology and also has reporting features.

Project Management Techniques by Dick Billows - podcasts - for those of us who prefer a more auditory learning style, or who want to learn something while working out or driving. Some do include video, though. These podcasts contain all the basics and some additional perspectives and techniques to aid effectiveness.

Asana is the shared task list for your team. The place to plan, organize & stay in sync. Free for up to 30 team menbers.

This looks like a great way to keep a project team organized and informed. The tutorial was helpful and gave a nice overview of the system. Free is also a wonderful feature!

For a simple, light Project Management tool, Asana worked great to keep a list of tasks and when they were completed.

This is a free version of Microsoft Project. It does require you to download it to your computer

I like the recommendations for stress reduction. A few people at my work actually requested that the company create a quiet relaxation room. Not sure if they'll do it, but I hope so. I got into breathing meditation years ago and it pretty much cured me of anxiety attacks that had persisted from my late 20's to early 30's. A couple years of daily practice and they haven't returned for almost 10 years. I don't keep up with the meditation anymore, but I'd say any amount of practice can affect long-term benefits.

There are many great groups in Linkedin to brainstorm with project management peers. The eCube Forum is specifically for people in the Training profession, and project management is one topic.

A blog outlining the top 10 free online project management software, because we can't all buy MS Project. This blog provides a brief overview of each software as well as links to the full site.

I'ts great to have all of these in one place. It allows you to compare them together. Two I have looked at for use in Education are ZOHO and Huddle.

Great add Brook! I came across this article when I was searching for a PM tool for our office. I've tried Basecamp before and I like how intuitive it is. Have you tried any of the other ones?

I understand this class is about project management, but after interviewing our product manager I realized I had misunderstood the difference between the two and how they worked together. Many times though I think both jobs are combined, due to lack of personnel.

Rose - Thanks for this. I learn best from examples and seeing how others approach. I love that the templates include not only instructions for completion but also "case scenario" text to give you an example of a completed form. Very helpful.

Sharepoint is a great project management tool, most especially for eLearning. Our online department utilizes it to manages tasks and build online resources for the department. It's a great place to share files and also comment on those files. It has discussion boards and announcement boards. Users can view files and edit them with versioning.

I agree that SharePoint is a great collaboration tool, although it's nice to have someone around who is an expert with using it. Sometimes it can be a little hard to handle. My favorite thing about SharePoint is that you can set up a workflow where a project manager can approve all document updates and new content before it goes live on the site. The manager can even leave comments to help the person revamp their submission. It's a great cloud-based collaboration and information management tool!

I agree, Melissa - it is a great tool but a bit cumbersome. We have a Sharepoint SME in our office who is working on revamping all of our sites. I am hoping it will make our teams use their sites to their fuller potential. If you have a content management plan, it is fantastic - but it can spiral out of control very quickly!

Jennifer, I posted a tool very similar. I really love mind mapping and think it has huge benefits in the area of project management. It is nice when multiple people can work on the same visual. These maps help you to organized your ideas and see potential problems. Both huge things in Project Management.
