Here is a PM online assessment (for purchase): There is an Overview, Breakdown, and Sample Questions. This opens my eyes to the fact that maybe companies (such as my own) should give this assessment or a similar one to folks before handing over a project to those individuals.

I love this approach to communication! I've used in all aspects of my work and personal communications and when I really implement it has really helped me navigate some high conflict situations. It does take practice and is easier to work with if you have others you can engage with to practice the techniques.

I am curious to know if anyone has tried this. I think the idea of badges and games in project management is intriguing. This is a task management web application based on agile methodology. It has a great visual and clean user interface which makes it easy for anyone to understand and use. The features of Trello are easy to use, such as the drag and drop of tasks/cards. This can be easily used for agile requirements gathering as well.

And it's Free! I like the clean look of the software. I might give this a go for my upcoming move. Thanks for posting.

This is a nice simple overview on how to set up your WBS. The narrator also has a lovely British accent which makes it a little more fun.

That was a great way of explaining the WBS and demonstrated what should be included in the WBS thanks for sharing this.

Another good addition here. I learned a few new things about creating a WBS, such as using SMEs to decompose work below the package level.

Interesting article, I learned something new in the section releasing the benefits. Specifically, "to gain benefits, you must have change." I know some can be afraid of change but then how does a company grow. Change needs to occur to have everything stay current and up-to date. thanks

This was a great article since it appealed to all skill levels. Whether new to project management or a "seasoned" professional these tips could apply to all. I also like how it was broken down into 21 ways so you could pick one topic and work on that and then move on to the next if need be. A great way to gradually build better PM skills.

A comprehensive look at applying the PMBOK methodology to instructional design work. This open access textbook is very grounded in the PMBOK methodology and based on another open textbook called Project Management From Simple to Complex.

I like this website and have read most of the topics. I post the homepage URL to show all the topics available, but take note of the few topics on project management. I've had a long interest in the convergence of PM & KM, and both share some similar qualities from the systems-oriented perspective. There are a lot of other authors and resources out there that talk about PM from a systems-thinking approach, but I thought this site a good starting point. A good book for expanding on this topic is Gerald Weinberg's "An Introduction to General Systems Thinking."

This is a great site for affordable online training, especially for PMP certification preparation. You can select training from among many reputable online training devopment companies. The PMP course I checked out was by PrimeLearning. Although I couldn't tell which version of the PMBOK the course was written for, it looked like all of the main concepts were included in the course.

Very affordable for PMP prep classes! I took one several years ago and it was a few thousand dollars.

Free templates for all stages of Project Management. Great simple explanations of terminology and descriptions of what should go in each section of templates that are available. Not only are there documents you would expect such as Project Initiation Documents and Work Breakdown Schedule documents, but also Project Meeting Agenda and Minute templates. When you don't know where to start with compiling PM documents, this site offers some easy to use options.
