ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court on Friday issued notices to the Interior Ministry, Rangers and Sindh government in the case regarding former Petroleum Minister Dr. Asim Hussain's discharge from the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (NICVD) to Rangers headquarters.
KARACHI: Major Genera Bilal Akbar, Director General of Pakistan Rangers (Sindh), Thursday met Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah and conveyed his reservations regarding advertisement against paramilitary force by police in local dailies. The chief minister assured the DG Rangers that impartial inquiry would be conducted into the issue and action would be taken against the culprits found involved.
KARACHI: Another member of Coordination Committee of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) has been picked up by the rangers in Thursday's wee hours. The personnel of paramilitary force raided a house in North Nazimabad and arrested Kamal Malik, a member of Coordination Committee. MQM leader Wasay Jalil also confirmed the arrest of Rabita Committee member Kamal Malik.
KARACHI: As many as five political workers have been arrested during a raid by the personnel of paramilitary force in Karachi area of Liaquatabad in Friday's wee hours. KARACHI: The Pakistan Rangers Sindh on Friday obtained 90-day remand of political activist allegedly involved in targeted killing of 57 people. Sources in the paramilitary forces said the suspect arrested from Gulshan-e-Mamar area of the city is also involved in the killing of two paramilitary soldiers as well as armed attacks on police and Rangers mobiles.

KARACHI: An anti terrorism court (ATC) Monday sentenced an activist of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) to jail for 19 years, Samaa reported. Chaudhry Shujaat, the convicted MQM activist, was charged with criminal possession of weapons and explosive material. Last year the government launched a major crackdown against criminal elements in the largest city of the country.
