We stayed here for a week and volunteered. The atmosphere was wonderful, the people were amazing, and the food was the best I had in Nepal. I would absolutely recommend this to anyone who is looking to volunteer in Nepal as an ethical solution to volunteering in orphanages, which are often corrupt.

The Snow Leopard - 0 views

This book was a great way to get excited for trekking, and to explore how Buddhism can be integrated into everyday life. I was staying in Nepal on the same dates as some of the entries were written, so it was very cool to be reading it day by day. Also, it explored aspects of Nepali culture in the 70's that were radically different now, and it was quite cool to see the overlap.

This is the website for the program I travelled to Nepal with. Not only was it an incredible experience, it gave me so many resources if I ever want to go back to Nepal. It even gave me resources for making a difference from home, and I would absolutely recommend it to anybody who is considering going abroad.

A wonderful organization that seeks to educate tourists about the dangers of volunteering in a foreign country. The primary mission of NGN is to return trafficked 'orphans' to their families, and expose the corruption around many so-called 'orphanages'. This was an eye-opening lesson for me, and one I hope to spread as far as I can.

Learning what farming is about, and how to inform non farmers - 0 views

  •
All farmers should follow DairyCarrie, because she is real farmer who spends time talking about farming and getting accurate information out into the world. If farmers read this and know how to talk to non-farmers, farmers can show the world that we don't abuse our cows, and that we are good people!

"An overview of the various components required to care for animals properly, including nutrition, movement and medical attention." This is a great read(download the pdf found on the webpage) about why farmers care, it includes what Peta and other animal rights originations dont mention about farmers. It is mostly common sense, once you read it, it will make sense!
