Tension Palmo spent 12 years meditating in a cave on the side of a mountain, and in doing so proved that women are just as capable of extended meditation as are men. A great read, that provides lots of insight into Buddhism teachings and history.

Her book is filled with simple, applicable tenets of Buddhist philosophy that can be applied to anyones life, regardless of religion or belief. This book was very helpful for me in understanding Buddhism and meditation techniques.
