Obama Administration cuts coal plant pollution - increased energy cost? - 0 views

  •
The Obama Administration and the EPA have officially announced their intent to cut current coal power plant carbon emissions by forty percent. Experts in the field of power production say that these new regulations are impossible to achieve without extremely expensive prototype-based carbon capture technology. These new regulations will certainly have a huge impact on the cost of electricity in the coming years.

So do you see a parallel to the fire regulations you have been researching? Do you see a similar impact on cost? Will these costs impact in any way the enforcement of these regulations? Do the benefits outweigh the costs?

Take a look at this interesting set of Siamese gray whale twins. This could be the first set of Siamese twins ever for whales. Was it because of pollution, or just a odd occurrence.

Interior Paints and Indoor Air Pollution - 0 views

  •
This site includes facts about how different paints can effect the environment. Included in this website there is a table which shows how much chemicals are released by different kinds of paint. In the article there seemed to be a lot of information that told you what the chemicals were. Thanks to this site, I will definitely look more into which type of flat latex paint I will use for the mural that will be better for the environment and will be better for the people that are going to be around the paint. Although almost all paints have chemicals in them, this website is great if you are trying to be careful about making the people in the environment around the painting sick. There aren't many affects listed due to the chemicals in the paint, but this article makes you think differently. Normally, chemicals are not known to be good for people, and this site makes you think differently about what paint you use, even if you've never thought about it before.

Scandinavian Moan- Acid Rain - 0 views

This site was and still is a very helpful site for me while I was completing my environmental project in global. It describes what acid rain is as well as how it effects environment. It also refers to the specific country of Sweden which is the county in which I was studying the impact of acid rain on the lakes and rivers. This sites was my most informational and gave me most of my data for the project.
