Cutting in allows the painter to smoothly paint along the edges of one wall without getting paint on the other side or the ceiling. It is a very effective technique to use when painting sets. This site includes facts about how different paints can effect the environment. Included in this website there is a table which shows how much chemicals are released by different kinds of paint. In the article there seemed to be a lot of information that told you what the chemicals were. Thanks to this site, I will definitely look more into which type of flat latex paint I will use for the mural that will be better for the environment and will be better for the people that are going to be around the paint. Although almost all paints have chemicals in them, this website is great if you are trying to be careful about making the people in the environment around the painting sick. There aren't many affects listed due to the chemicals in the paint, but this article makes you think differently. Normally, chemicals are not known to be good for people, and this site makes you think differently about what paint you use, even if you've never thought about it before.

For this "How to Paint a Mural" site, I found a lot of helpful information about what materials are needed, what type of paint I should use (which I already knew from Ms. Cleary), and what techniques I could use to paint the mural. Even though they used specific brands as some examples of paint brands, this site also gave some examples overall. Besides all of the mural information, there was other drawing and painting advice that I might want to look at another time, including different media. This site seems interesting for people that are interested in art. Not only does this site have great information, it also isn't boring looking, and you can find what you are looking for. I'm glad I looked at this site even if I saw tips and information that I already knew.

This website came up when was looking for what color paints are the most relaxing for people to look at. I don't believe it is a very great site because it was almost like an advertisement for a brand of paint, but it was good for referencing to colors. It did give me a good idea of what shades of colors I may like, not that I would necessarily need that brand/ type of paint they were using for an example. I am going to look at other sites that may say why certain colors make people feel the way they do, which is something this site did not do much of. Overall, this site was okay, but not my favorite.

With such a large amount of different paint brushes that are now made these days, this website gave some great advice as to which kind of paintbrush I should use with which type of paint. Considering the type of bristles (or filaments) that the brush has, the width of the brush, even the bristle shape will make a difference in the painting. This site put a lot of information into a small article. Knowing what type of brush to use will help me a lot on the details of the mural that I'm making. All and all this site was quite nice and gave me even more information than I already knew.

This website had quite a few examples of some murals, they seemed to be a different style than I am thinking of doing, but they are nice to look at. They seemed very detailed and realistic. Another thing about this site is that you could be more specific with the type of mural you would like to look at, like; children's rooms, ceiling murals, museum murals, and more. One of the better things about this site was that it had many links to things related to art, but otherwise, this site was not my favorite because there were not many different painting styles. Overall, this site was not very helpful.

This is a useful site for more professional people on how to price a mural and has very specific pricing, but wasn't useful for me as a beginner, painting smaller murals.

This article didn't only tell me which color stimulates the mind more, but it also gave an explanation as to why. Besides the color, the brightness of the color that makes a big impact on a person efficiency. From the insights of a psychologist and Feng Shui principals, the information in this article seemed to be truthful. I thought this website was very useful for my study because I do not want to paint a mural that would stimulate the mind too much if a person was feeling sick and just wanted to rest. This website is great for anyone that would like to know what color to paint a room.

Paint.NET is free image editing program that works very well for making small, pixel art tiles. This is very useful when making a game in an engine that supports tile-sets because they can condense many different tiles into one small image file and save space for your game.
