    This article is about the diving of players in the nhl. The veterans of the nhl want it to stop too because its ruining the game and turning into a sport like soccer.     1. I really learned a lot from this reading. It said that many of the blacks were fought by the STATE TROOPERS when they rebelled. I thought that state troopers helped anyone in the state. 2. This movement on the Edmund pettus bridge, where 70 people had to be treated at a hospital, caused MLK Jr. to fly to D.C. and persuade president Johnson to pass a bill for voting rights to black people and give a speech.

    I was very surprised to see how the blacks were treated when they rebelled against the white people and decided to fight back. They make it seem that the bloodbath during this time was almost like a war. It is so horrifying that they would treat people so terrible.

    This resource can connect back to President Johnsons speech very well. It can because it shows why the blacks were outraged and about what happened when everything got out of hand and a huge bloodbath occured. President Johnson said that blacks and whites should have the same rights because evryone deserves a fighting chance. This article also says that many others believe that black people should be able to vote just as white people could.

    It was a miracle that nobody was killed. By the way that she describes it, it would make sense to have many deaths because she refers to it as a "bloodbath".

    Jack - You clearly explain the point of view this article is trying to give. One detail that surprised me most in your annotations is the fact that no one was killed. One detail that did confuse me a little was the statement about the whole mess. It didn't confuse me as much as it would confuse someone reading it for the first time. The thought that I will take away from the post is that no one was killed. You also connected back to LBJ. Great Job.
