This a good article if you want the counter point to concussions in football. They talk about how now all hit to the head and neck area are illegal, but its not stoping and of the hits to the head. The only difference now is that there team will recieve a penalty. Although it doesnt completely stop concussions this article does have good facts that do support how the rules have lessened the concussions.

This article is great to back up my theory that the new rules arn't preventing concussions from the league because here they talk about how more than 60% of concussions in football are caused in practice. You hear all the things about how they are changing the rules in the games. Why are they focusing on the rules in the games if more of the concussions are happening in practices.

This article is great to show that we actually do need to make a huge change or else these refugees are going to keep getting sicker and sicker because of the terrible conditions in the refugee camp. "refugees at a camp on the border with North Ossetia, who have been on hunger strike for over two weeks, have protested to the federal authorities about the continuing delay in allowing them to return to their permanent homes and at the "inhuman" conditions in the camp. In an address published on the Ingush.ru website, they called for an immediate solution to the problem of the "water protection zone" in the Terek river floodplain, the issuing of passports and permits and compensation for lost property and allocation of land plots."

This quote is just one of many great quotes to show the solutions for the conditions in the refugee camps in the world today.

This article has great information about how the refugee camp in Kenya is overcrowded and it is holding four times as much people as it should. That's how many people are there in the refugee camps even today. There are around 380,000 people living in that refugee camp in Kenya and many more are coming.

"12-year-old Lao Vonlai, his older sister, Dalah, and his parents are confined to an overcrowded refugee camp in Thailand in 1982 to wait for resettlement in a Western country. Food is scarce, and camp conditions are horrific, with little to sustain the family but a sense of community and dwindling hope, as months of confinement become years. Vonlai befriends an aging Lao colonel who teaches him woodcarving and determination, and he valiantly protects his sister from the ever-present danger of sexual assault." This is a piece of the article that shows the dangers of the refugee camp. A 12 year old boy is thinking about protecting his sister, and watching out for other dangers.

I was very surprised to see how the blacks were treated when they rebelled against the white people and decided to fight back. They make it seem that the bloodbath during this time was almost like a war. It is so horrifying that they would treat people so terrible.

This resource can connect back to President Johnsons speech very well. It can because it shows why the blacks were outraged and about what happened when everything got out of hand and a huge bloodbath occured. President Johnson said that blacks and whites should have the same rights because evryone deserves a fighting chance. This article also says that many others believe that black people should be able to vote just as white people could.

This article is about the battle of selma from the point of view of a girl who was in the middle of the whole mess.
  •
It was a miracle that nobody was killed. By the way that she describes it, it would make sense to have many deaths because she refers to it as a "bloodbath".
  •
Jack - You clearly explain the point of view this article is trying to give. One detail that surprised me most in your annotations is the fact that no one was killed. One detail that did confuse me a little was the statement about the whole mess. It didn't confuse me as much as it would confuse someone reading it for the first time. The thought that I will take away from the post is that no one was killed. You also connected back to LBJ. Great Job.
