The contest will be an annual competition for schools students in year 10 in which knowledge and skills in maths, science, engineering, and project management are put to the test in the creation of a 'spaghetti machine' - the Italian term for an overly complex machine or device that is used to perform a relatively simple task."

This 2009 report from Education.au looks at the current state of play regarding the use of Web 2.0 services across each of the education authorities in Australia. SBDS will be a new discovery service focussed on Australia, Australians, and items found in Australian collecting institutions. It will provide a single point of access to resources currently discoverable via the Library's multiple discovery services, and to digitised material freely available online anywhere in the world.

From today, Catholic schools across Australia will be able to publish education content on iTunes U, providing teachers and students materials to enhance learning and teaching. As one of the first Australian institutions in the K-12 section of iTunes U, Catholic schools will be able to share resources with the world's education community and enable anywhere, anytime learning.
