The October 16 edition of The Daily Tar Heel includes an article highlighting the University of North Carolina's implementation of Oracle's PeopleSoft system to manage the University's finances. The article notes that the implementation of this software will alter services some human resources facilitators are expected to carry out. The article also notes that about 190 of 335 facilitators across campus will be trained to do more complex transactions with PeopleSoft. Those facilitators without access to PeopleSoft will be repurposed in their department.

The article notes that the new system will go live in January 2014. The article also notes that new system is very robust but the advantages also present challenges in terms of requiring more experienced and highly trained users.
