Highlighting Oracle's announcement that Miami University, a 16,000 student institution located in Oxford, Ohio that is ranked third in the nation for undergraduate teaching by U.S. News & World Report, has selected Oracle CRM On Demand to transform its outdated legacy admissions system, improve student recruitment and meet growing communication needs for departments throughout the university. The press release notes that the administration wanted a customer relationship management (CRM) system that could enhance the admissions process by effectively tracking prospective students while simultaneously expanding to meet other university needs.

The October 11 edition of Campus Technology includes the following article highlighting Oracle's recently announced social networking tool, Oracle Social Network. The article notes that the Oracle Social Network is integrated with other Oracle Public Cloud Application services, and it enables users to communicate and collaborate with other people inside or outside of their organization using a variety of tools, such as personal profiles, groups, activity feeds, status updates, discussion forums, document sharing, co-browsing and editing, instant messaging, e-mail and Web conferencing.

Highlighting Oracle Solaris 11, which was previewed at Oracle OpenWorld 2011 and touted as the first and only fully virtualized operating system. The article notes that Solaris is the operating system at the heart of Oracle's Sun ZFS Storage Appliance and powers the SPARC T4 server line, SPARC SuperCluster T4-4, Exadata Database Machine X-2 and X2-8 systems and Exalogic Elastic Cloud.

Highlighting Oracle's Java SE 7 on Mac OS X and the company's plans for Java SE (version 8). The article notes that Oracle plans to release Java SE 7 on Mac OS X for developers in the second quarter of 2012 and Java SE (version 8) during the summer of 2013.
