    Wer für die Verbreitung von OER ein CMS wie z.B., Wordpress benutzt findet in dieser Studie erneut die Aufforderung, das System stets aktuell zu halten und möglichst wenig Plugins zu nutzen, da sich die meisten Sicherheitslücken in über diese Helferlein ins Sytem kommen - wobei es natürlich bei jedem System weit verbreitete Plugins mit zügig reagierenden Entwicklern gibt - dort ist das Risiko dann wieder geringer. Drupal kommt in der Studie übrigens besonders gut weg.

  • Particularly for OERs, the current type of static metadata is not a good fit: authors of OERs are notoriously negligent about filling out metadata fields. For free content, with few exceptions (notably MIT Open Courseware), there is no infrastructure for anybody else to do the cataloging. Thus, this type of static metadata is essentially useless, and educators cannot find the content they need.
