This search engine is good and blocks inappropriate information for kids. My only problem with this site is the refresh for the site is a little confusing but it is nice as a teacher watching students it gives an alert when students are trying to search things outside of the appropriate field.

This video clearly shows kids what personal information is and why they should keep it safe. It is promoted for grades 4 through 6, but it is appropriate for 3rd grade as well.

This government site has free resources for teaching digital citizenship. You can order free education booklets and other materials for your whole school. Make sure you scan these materials before giving them directly to students, especially at the elementary level. Some materials contain mature content and should be delivered directly to parents, perhaps during conferences. This app can be found in the Apple Store and it allows you to create a video with many tools. Tools provided are text, picture uploading, pictographs, doodling, voice recording and much more. I found this to be easier to use than other options and great for kids!

BrainPOP is an interactive website where students can learn information about all subject areas taught in school through videos and games. The information conveyed in the lessons could give students a new perspective about content they are learning or challenge students who understand the content to apply it in new ways. The website includes videos, games, assignments, and quizzes for teachers to implement in their classroom.
