This blog is called the Open Science Project and has a very nice posting that examines the details of open science.

This blog includes a very important aspect of open science: Your research is not done until it is published online. Very often we see scientists being too busy to actually publish their findings online and we should pay great attention when this happens. Science is not completed until the research is visible to everyone in order to see how the results were created and how the data has been processed. This blog argues that basically there is no real science if it is not open and it is not published online. "Closed" science is not real science because it is not possible to see how the results came along.
