  •
"This workshop will discuss how Chittenden Central Supervisory Union(CCSU) uses an AT Assessment Plan (ATAP) based on the SETT framework to support students with multiple or severe disabilities to enable increased access to the curriculum and independence.  The ATAP and the process of implementing it will be discussed.  Several extensive case studies will be reviewed.  How those ATAPs were revised in subsequent years to continue supporting students will also be covered.  Case studies include students with visual impairments, autism, learning impairments, speech impediments and physical disabilities.  Learn how one district is making a difference for its students with severe or multiple disabilities!"

"Communication applications (apps), designed to be used on an iPhone, iTouch or iPad (iDevices), fit different cognitive and learning profiles just like all programs and devices do. Today, most people use multiple devices to address their daily communication needs. The idea that ANY one device can (or should) "do the job" for individuals with communication needs no longer makes sense. "

How Does iPad Workflow Fluency Look Like in Kindergarten | Langwitches Blog - 1 views

"There is nothing wrong with using apps for isolated skills practice, such as multiplication, spelling, memorization, taking digitized quizzes or substituting otherwise traditional analog activities. These purposes should not be the only reasons of using iPads though. As students are being exposed to different apps, the focus needs to remain on the purpose, creation, workflow and sharing of what they can "do"with the iPads. They should "do" what they could not conceive or accomplish without them before."

20+ Fun Free Apps that Promote Student Centered Learning & Literacy : Teacher Reboot Camp - 1 views

  •
"Lately, I have discovered many cool free apps that are incredible for creating digital stories, reading stories, and interacting with stories. These apps are incredibly engaging and meet the needs of our diverse learners. They allow learners to interact with the plot, characters, and even design of the story. They also support multiple learning styles because they are visual, have sound, and animation. Students can even begin to craft their own stories using their voices, drawings, images, videos, and so much more"

Inanimate Alice is Transmedia - designed from the outset as a story that unfolds over time and on multiple platforms, the episodes are available on all devices capable of running Adobe's Flash Player. 'Alice' connects technologies, languages, cultures, generations and curricula within a sweeping narrative accessible by all. As Alice's journey progresses, new storylines appear elsewhere providing more details and insights, enriching the tale through surprising developments. Students are encouraged to co-create developing episodes of their own, either filling in the gaps or developing new strands.
