"he students are using the iPad to access content, create content, and to demonstrate their knowledge.  For some of the students, just being able to access their assignments via @Edmodo, take notes with Notability via @gingerlabs, learn Social Studies, create assignments in Drive or Pages, review math skills with iXL, study with Quizlet and access books with downloads from Bookshare is huge. Pererro switch access for iPad - 4 views

  •
Pererro is a simple, compact and light, plug and play adapter that powers directly from the iOS device, providing access to iOS on iPod touch, iPhone & iPad via Apple VoiceOver. "It is designed to plug into the kind of switches that are widely available in the AT community and employed in many communication aids and environmental control devices. The adapter, which weighs just 6.9g is controlled through a switch that is connected with a 3.5mm minijack plug. The iOS device can be charged without disconnecting, and works with almost any voiceover enabled 'app' available from the Apple App Store. As Pererro is connected directly there is no Bluetooth battery drain, which is common with other devices.

I Bought An AAC App... Now What? - Technology in (Spl) Education | Technology in (Spl) ... - 0 views

  •
"With the proliferation of AAC apps, it seems that many people quickly get or want to get an AAC app for their child with an autism spectrum disorder. It is awesome and amazing to see so many people who need AAC begin to have access to AAC. But once there is accessibility, it is not always readily apparent what to do and it is like any technology or gadget, if you don't learn how to USE it, it could become like the 'proverbial treadmill clothes hanger' or abandoned musical instrument."
