"This workshop will discuss how Chittenden Central Supervisory Union(CCSU) uses an AT Assessment Plan (ATAP) based on the SETT framework to support students with multiple or severe disabilities to enable increased access to the curriculum and independence. The ATAP and the process of implementing it will be discussed. Several extensive case studies will be reviewed. How those ATAPs were revised in subsequent years to continue supporting students will also be covered. Case studies include students with visual impairments, autism, learning impairments, speech impediments and physical disabilities. Learn how one district is making a difference for its students with severe or multiple disabilities!"
"This workshop will discuss the second and third year of utilizing iPads and iTouches district wide to support students eligible for special education. Learn from our mistakes, our many, many mistakes! Hear the details of how students have used the devices successfully in our new split model - both 1:1 with students receiving special education services and shared across the day during direct instruction with special educators. Funding, logistics, and in-depth details will be covered. Case studies will be used to outline the process and the academic successes of students. iPad utilities and apps utilized will be demonstrated and student work will be shown. Key successes will be highlighted, as will areas of the deployment needing improvement."
This page will help to correlate iOS Apps with Common Core Standards grades K-3. Goal for completion is August 2013. Check any Math section or Grades K-2 in Reading as they are nearly done. Thanks
"The use of Participatory Action Research (PAR) during the project ensures that TATE SIP is informed by stakeholder input throughout the development and evaluation phases. Outcome measures will include evaluation of device use (device skill acquisition), device usability (skills used in targeted environments), functional performance (activities of daily living affected by device use), quality of life (subjective well-being) and social participation (community integration).
To ensure the TATE SIP reaches its intended audiences-survivors of TBI and the individuals who will train them to use ATC-we are working with a national group of researchers, practitioners, consumers, and advocacy organizations to support recruitment and dissemination activities.

"Each year, the IACC releases its annual list of scientific advances that represent significant progress in the field. The 20 studies selected have given new insight into the complex causes of autism and potential risk factors, studied clues that could lead to earlier diagnosis, and evaluated promising early intervention strategies. "
"The learning module practices were identified from a review of the research literature conducted by staff of the National Professional Development Center on Autism Spectrum Disorder (NPDC on ASD) in 2013-2014. "The free software, called simply Stage, is an iOS app that provides document camera features and annotation capabilities. It uses the iPad's camera to capture live video and provides video output via wired connections to projectors or external displays or wireless connections via AirPlay. It also includes a label function for placing overlays over videos and a drawing function that allows users to annotate over the live video."

"In my whole teaching career, I've only had a mish mash of tech. Currently, we don't have a class set of anything, but we do have small sets of different tools. Nevertheless, at any given time, it's possible to be 1:1 on the internet in our room. I prefer teaching with the limitations of no class sets, because it means we're constantly reflecting on the merits of each tool for the given purpose"
"My latest multi-touch iBook, Progress and Poverty in Industrial America, is available for your iPad - free / iTunes. It's a great resource for use in the classroom, and serves as a model for teacher or student curation of historic content into interactive digital DBQ's. "
