    he U.S. Embassy Macedonia Public Affairs Section is pleased to announce that funding is available for academic year English language teaching programs that offer primary and/or secondary school students in Macedonia innovative and experiential learning opportunities to improve their English and learn about the United States. Programs should meet at least once a week throughout the academic school year, beginning in September 2017. The main objectives of this program are to: * Provide opportunities for disadvantaged students to improve their English speaking ability. * Teach about American culture and values through English language learning. * Connect students in the United States and Macedonia, so that they can learn more about each other and build relationships. * Promote inter-ethnic understanding among students in Macedonia. Successful applicants should build off of current and previous English language programs run by U.S. Embassy Macedonia, including the Dreams and Friendship and Graphic Novel Programs

    The U.S. Department of Energy, National Nuclear Security Administration (DOE/NNSA), Defense Nuclear Nonproliferation (DNN), Office of Nonproliferation and Arms Control (DNN NPAC) is soliciting applications for the program studies, training and outreach needs described herein. The mission of DNN NPAC is to prevent proliferation, ensure peaceful nuclear uses, and enable verifiable nuclear reductions. DNN NPAC provides a comprehensive approach to strengthen nonproliferation and arms control regimes, achieving its mission through four subprograms: International Nuclear Safeguards; Nuclear Export Controls; Nuclear Verification; and, Nonproliferation Policy in order to fulfill this responsibility. Among its many activities, DNN NPAC sponsors program studies, domestic and international training, and outreach addressing International Nuclear Safeguards; domestic and international training, outreach, and program studies addressing Nuclear Controls; and, program studies addressing Nuclear Verification and Nonproliferation Policy. To meet its mission, DNN NPAC applies the broad base of U.S. technical expertise including that of other government agencies, the DOE/NNSA National Laboratories, academia, nongovernmental organizations, and industry.     The Office of English Language Programs of the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs announces an open competition for proposals to advance the Bureau's objectives through support of academic exchanges that will result in the improvement of English teaching capacity around the world and the enhancement of mutual understanding between the people of the United States and the people of other countries through exchanges of U.S. English language educators to all regions of the world. The EL Fellow and Specialist Program builds bridges of mutual understanding between the people of the United States and the people of other countries through exchanges of U.S. English language educators. The EL Fellow and Specialist Program sends talented, highly qualified U.S. citizens in the area of Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) or a closely related field on approximately ten month Fellow exchanges or short-term (two-weeks or more) Specialist assignments at educational institutions in all regions of the world. Through U.S. embassy-designated projects, EL Fellows and Specialists share their expertise, build English teaching capacity abroad, hone their skills, and gain international experience. Upon returning to the United States, they share their experiences and acquired knowledge with their communities and professional colleagues. Projects are carried out with host country ministries of education, universities, teacher-training institutions, NGOs, binational centers, and other English language teaching institutions.

Miami University - M.I.A.M.I WOMEN Grant application - 0 views

    Applicants for the funds may be students or faculty. The project, program, or entrepreneurial idea must be created by, led by or benefit women. Grants are awarded in values of $2500 to $20,000. While we prefer the base grant to be $5,000, we are considering a limited number of $2500 which will be required to show high impact. These applicants will be considered on a case-by-case basis. The grants must be submitted online via the link below and must include a 2-minute video. Applicants will be narrowed to a pool of 10-15 finalists by our M.I.A.M.I. WOMEN Grants Committee. This committee will review applications; contact applicants if additional information is required, and present the finalists to the M.I.A.M.I. WOMEN Steering Committee and Development Staff. Grant deadline for this year is Feb. 9, 2018. These finalists will perform in a fast-pitch style Hawk Tank event on April 11, 2018. Finalists will be offered fast-pitch training courtesy of the Farmers School of Business - school of Entrepreneurship, and will receive coaching and support. They will then pitch their idea in 5 minutes or less on April 11, 2018 at the event. Giving Circle members are the voters who will determine winners. Absentee voters will be given the option to vote online. Winners will be announced that night or the next day at the Symposium, to be determined.

    Indiana University's African Studies Program invites applications for a short-term residency to conduct research in IU's Libraries/African Studies Collections. Indiana University's African Studies Collection ranks among the top tier of such collections in the U.S. It comprises more than 150,000 volumes of monographs and over 700 serial subscriptions as well as materials in other formats (e.g. posters, slides, film/video, audio tapes, etc). The focus of the collection is on the humanities and social sciences, supporting a wide range of students and faculty in such departments as history, anthropology, fine arts, theatre & drama, literature, folklore, ethnomusicology, communication and culture, linguistics, religious studies, education, political science, business, economics, journalism, and applied health science. This residency is intended for faculty members at Historically Black Colleges and Universities, or at other U.S. colleges / universities with limited Africa collections, to conduct research in Indiana University's libraries and special collections in support of curriculum development or publications. The successful applicant will receive an award that covers domestic travel, accommodations in Bloomington, and a modest per diem for up to two weeks of research. The award will cover expenses up to a maximum of $2,000 and must be used before August 01, 2014. The recipient is expected to reside in Bloomington during the period of her/his award.

Awards received beginning in September and all proposal submissions going forward will be required to use the new rates.
