The National Endowment for the Humanities Division of Public Programs is currently accepting proposals for the Short Documentaries program. The Short Documentaries program supports documentary films up to 30 minutes that engage audiences with humanities ideas in appealing ways. The program aims to extend the humanities to new audiences through the medium of short documentary films. Films must be grounded in humanities scholarship. The Short Documentaries program can support single films or a series of thematically-related short films addressing significant figures, events, or ideas. Programs may be intended for regional or national distribution, via broadcast, festivals, and/or online distribution. The subject of the film(s) must be related to "A More Perfect Union": NEH Special Initiative Advancing Civic Education and Commemorating the Nation's 250th Anniversary.

CTR supports the pressure campaign against the Democratic People's Republic of Korea's (DPRK) by training partners to fully implement United Nations Security Council Resolutions (UNSCRs) against the DPRK, detect and halt DPRK-linked sanctions evasion activities, and impede the DPRK's material and financial activities that fund the development of Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD). CTR achieves this mission through capacity-building programs, open-source research, and other specialized efforts, all of which help at-risk countries detect and shut down financial and material flows to the DPRK.

The National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) Office of Digital Humanities is accepting applications for the Digital Humanities Advancement Grants program. The program supports innovative, experimental, and/or computationally challenging digital projects at different stages of their lifecycles, from early start-up phases through implementation and sustainability. Experimentation, reuse, and extensibility are hallmarks of this program, leading to work that can scale to enhance scholarly research, teaching, and public programming in the humanities.

In support of its mission, the foundation is inviting applications for its U.S. Venetian Research Program. Through the program, travel grants are awarded to individual scholars to support historical research on Venice and the former Venetian empire and/or for the study of contemporary Venetian society and culture. Disciplines of the humanities and social sciences are eligible areas of study, including but not limited to archaeology, architecture, art, bibliography, economics, history, history of science, law, literature, music, political science, religion, and theater.

The National Endowment for the Humanities Division of Public Programs is currently accepting proposals for the Public Humanities Projects program. The Public Humanities Projects program supports projects that bring the ideas and insights of the humanities to life for general audiences through in-person programming. Projects must engage humanities scholarship to analyze significant themes in disciplines such as history, literature, ethics, and art history.

"Ploughshares Fund helps make the world more safe and secure." It's a simple sentence, but it's supported by complex work. How do we do it? By funding organizations and people who promote the elimination of nuclear weapons, prevent the emergence of new nuclear states, and build regional peace.

The residence grants are offered to researchers of various fields in the humanities from different countries. We especially encourage historians, culture studies scholars, and anthropologists. We welcome applications for research that offer broad interpretations of urban history as a discipline at the intersection of various approaches of humanities and social sciences. The chronological and geographical frames of the proposed research are limited to the 19th and 20th-century history of East and Central Europe. Preference will be given to topics related to the Center's research focuses like urbanization in multi-ethnic cities, individual experience of city residents during 20th-century radical changes and wars, planned cities, urban heritage, commemorative practices and city space, infrastructure and cultural practices in the cities, digital and public history.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's National Center for Injury Prevention and Control (NCIPC) is soliciting investigator-initiated research that will help expand and advance our understanding about what works to prevent violence that impacts children and youth, collectively referred to as Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), including child abuse and neglect, teen dating violence, sexual violence, youth violence, youth/parent suicidal behavior, and exposure to adult intimate partner violence. This initiative is intended to support the evaluation of primary prevention programs, practices or policies that target universal or selected high-risk populations (i.e., populations that have one or more risk factors that place them at heightened risk for violence). Funds are available to conduct such studies focused on preventing child abuse and neglect and at least one other form of violence affecting children and youth, including teen dating violence, sexual violence, youth violence, and exposure to adult intimate partner violence.

This program aims to extend the opportunity to participate in the digital transformation of humanistic inquiry to a greater number of humanities scholars. ACLS Digital Extension Grants support projects that have advanced beyond the start-up phase of development as they pursue one or more of the following activities: Developing new systems of making established digital resources available to broader audiences and/or scholars from diverse institutions Extending established digital projects and resources with content that adds diversity or interdisciplinary reach Fostering new team-based collaborations between scholars at all career stages. Projects that convene, train, and empower communities of humanities faculty and/or graduate students around established digital research projects, as well as projects that allow scholars from institutions with limited digital infrastructure to exploit digital resources or to participate in existing labs or working groups, are especially welcome Creating new forms and sites for scholarly engagement with the digital humanities. Projects that document and recognize participant engagement are strongly encouraged.

The National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH)'s Division of Preservation and Access is offering a cooperative agreement to evaluate current national infrastructure in conservation and make recommendations to strengthen preservation of cultural heritage for present and future generations. The recipient will: 1) plan and host a national convening to foster dialogue surrounding the current state, challenges, and future goals for the field of conservation and preservation, and 2) publish and disseminate a report establishing a national strategic vision for preservation and related resources for conservators, allied professionals, educators, professional organizations, thought leaders, and the general public. This program is aligned with "A More Perfect Union": NEH Special Initiative Advancing Civic Education and Commemorating the Nation's 250th Anniversary.

The Mellon Emerging Faculty Leaders Award supports tenure-track faculty who have passed their midpoint review. The award is structured to free the time of junior faculty who have passed their midpoint tenure review-including those from underrepresented groups and others committed to eradicating disparities in their fields-so that they can both engage in and build support systems, networks, and affinity groups that make their fields and campuses more inclusive. Eligible applicants must have passed their third-year review or their institution's equivalent.

The purpose of this Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) is to support hypothesis-generating research in transgender people with the objective of characterizing the biological and immunological impact of the interventions (hormones, drugs and surgical) used for gender reassignment and their impact on susceptibility to HIV and other sexually transmitted infections (STI).

The FJP Community Network offers grants ranging from $5,000 to $25,000 as well as opportunities to connect with industry experts. Whether a person or publisher is trying to build a new business around memberships, report in an underserved community, or build a tool that helps local storytellers find and engage news audiences, we want to provide runway for them to serve their community. Project proposals do not require the use of Facebook tools or products.

Through this project entitled, Country Health Information Systems and Data Use (CHISU), USAID seeks to award a cooperative agreement to strengthen health information systems in low and middle income countries (LMIC) supported by USAID health programming. The overall goal of CHISU is to strengthen country capacity and leadership to manage and use health information systems to improve evidence-based decisions. The project will focus on enhancing host-country capacity to produce high-quality health information, to optimally manage this information and to institutionalize evidence-based decision making. It will align activities, priorities and systems with host-country strategic health objectives and contribute to a country's own development journey. This project will build upon USAID's Global Health Bureau's (GH) long-history promoting the use of data for decision making and enhancing health information systems in collaboration with host country counterparts.

Through the program, up to eight fellowship grants of $52,000 will be awarded to scholars for research projects focused on any aspect of fabrication. As described by the society, fabrication is bound up with fiction, language, and storytelling -- from spinning a yarn and weaving a tale, to embellishment, to lying and falsehood. Raising the relation between the high and low arts, the artist and the worker, the poet and rhetorician, as well as the gendering of production and reproduction, fabrication lies at heart of the art and humanities.

The Harry Ransom Center fellowship program at the University of Texas at Austin was established in 1989 under the directorship of Thomas F. Staley to encourage and facilitate use of the center's collections for scholarly inquiry. The program enables scholars from around the world to visit the center and conduct on-site research in its extensive collections of manuscripts, rare books, photographs, artworks, and other materials documenting America's cultural history and the creative process In 2020-21, the center will award ten dissertation fellowships and up to fifty postdoctoral fellowships for projects that require substantial on-site use of the center's collections. The collections support research in all areas of the humanities, including literature, photography, film, art, the performing arts, music, and cultural history. Through the program, recipients receive $3,500 per month for one to three months. Travel stipends and dissertation fellowships provide stipends of $2,000. International fellows will receive an additional $500 to offset visa and travel costs.

The Marguerite Casey Foundation is accepting applications for its 2019 Journalism Fellowships and Scholarships on Poverty program. Through the program, the foundation aims to support journalistic work that helps the public and policy makers understand how families are working for solutions to poverty and equity in communities across the United States. In the richest country in the world, tens of millions of Americans still live in poverty. The foundation believes that no family should live in poverty and works to support change for and by families. The foundation is particularly interested in stories about poverty, families, and solutions (such as policy, community and grassroots) in Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, New Mexico, Tennessee, and Texas.

Interact for Health seeks applications from an experienced external evaluator to design and implement a multi-year evaluation that will assess the short-term and intermediate impact of the tobacco marketing and community relations campaign. The evaluation will focus on examining the impact of the campaign on changes in social norms, attitudes, knowledge and behavior of the priority population: low-income, African American adults who use tobacco and live in Greater Cincinnati's urban core. The ultimate goal of the campaign is to encourage members of the priority population to reduce tobacco use or quit completely. It is anticipated that the three-year evaluation will begin in the fourth quarter of 2019 and run through 2022. Applicants should note that the Request for Applications for a marketing and community engagement consultant is happening simultaneously.

The campaign will focus on a priority population of low-income, African American adults who use tobacco in Greater Cincinnati's urban core. The ultimate goal is to encourage members of the priority population to reduce tobacco use or quit completely, offering substitutes for tobacco use and celebrating those who reduce or quit tobacco.  The marketing and community relations campaign will need to employ both traditional media tactics (i.e. radio, bus advertising, social media ads) and nontraditional tactics (i.e. public art and built environment installations, events, community relations). Interact for Health is open to two models: A sole organization to cover the entire scope of the campaign. One lead organization, working with partners, to cover the entire scope of the campaign.
