MiamiOH OARS on 30 Apr 18The American Philosophical Society promotes useful knowledge in the sciences and humanities through excellence in scholarly research, professional meetings, publications, library resources, and community outreach. Through its Lewis and Clark Fund, the society will award grants of up to $5,000 to doctoral students for exploratory field studies related to the collection of specimens and data that provides the imaginative stimulus which accompanies direct observation. The program supports projects from disciplines with a large dependence on field studies, including but not limited to archeology, anthropology, biology, ecology, geography, geology, linguistics, paleontology, and population genetics. To be eligible, applicants must be a doctoral students; postdoctoral fellows, master's degree candidates, and undergraduates are not eligible. In addition, applicants must be a citizen or resident of the United States.
