The primary purpose of the ASRM and SREI Research Grant Programs is to provide funds for new investigators to establish independent research programs. New investigators are those who have completed their training within the past three years and have independent faculty appointments at the commencement of the research. In special cases, ASRM will consider applications for bridge funding (i.e., between grant funding periods) for projects that are of benefit to other members of the Society, or for funding of new, highly innovative research projects by established investigators. Both the ASRM Research Grants, which are funded by the ASRM, and the SREI Research Grants, which are funded by SREI, are reviewed by the ASRM Research Committee. Grants in amounts of $10,000 to $50,000 will be considered for funding by the ASRM Board of Directors on an annual basis. A total of $200,000 is available for 2016. The SREI Board of Directors will fund one grant of up to $40,000. Funds are available for project expenses, technical assistance, patient expenses, research supplies and durable laboratory equipment. Up to ten percent (10%) of funds may be used for indirect costs or institutional overhead in circumstances deemed to be extraordinary by the Research Committee. Research grant funds may be expended over a 2-year time interval. If residual funds remain after 2 years, the principal investigator can apply for a no-cost extension. An individual should indicate which grant(s) he/she is applying for though he/she is eligible to receive only one grant.

Through our pooled fund, our members invest in the five areas which we believe are the foundational elements of a thriving and inclusive community - Arts & Culture, Education, the Environment, Health and Human Services. Each year, one Pooled Fund Grant Award is made in each of these five categories. Pooled Fund Grant Awards are made on an annual basis. The application process begins with an online Letter of Inquiry, which opens in September of each year. Funding decisions are made and announced each June. Organizations selected for a WA Women's Pooled Fund Grant Award will be asked to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) that outlines the terms of the grant post-award reporting requirements and our impact assessment process. While we do fund programs and projects, including capital projects, we encourage organizations to apply for general operating and capacity-building support. Regardless of the type of support requested, we want to understand your community's needs and how your organization is addressing those needs through the delivery of services to those directly impacted by inequity. We seek to support and collectively invest in organizations that are reflective of and embedded in the communities they serve, draw on the strengths and assets of these communities, and are accountable to these communities in order to achieve the long-term goals of increasing equity and reducing disparities.

The Global Equality Fund, managed by the Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights, and Labor (DRL) announces a Request for Statements of Interest (SOIs) from civil society to protect the human rights of LGBT people. Launched in December 2011, the Global Equality Fund aims to support the work of civil society organizations working to protect and advance the human rights of LGBT persons globally. Partners of the Global Equality Fund include the governments of Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Iceland, the Netherlands, Norway, and Sweden as well as the Arcus Foundation, the John D. Evans Foundation, LLH: the Norwegian LGBT Organization, the M?A?C AIDS Fund, Deloitte, and USAID. This solicitation is the first step in a two-part process. After reviewing SOIs, selected organizations will be invited to expand their ideas into full proposals at a later date. The intention of requesting SOIs first is to provide organizations with time to focus on submitting creative and new ideas to address human rights challenges facing LGBT persons and their advocates. The Global Equality Fund is part of DRL?s broader initiative to support at-risk and vulnerable populations, including women, people with disabilities, racial and ethnic minorities, and religious minorities.

Founded in 2001 as a permanent endowment of the Akron Community Foundation, the Gay Community Endowment Fund advances a lived equality for all LGBTQ+ people in greater Akron by investing in strategic and responsive grantmaking that empowers the LGBTQ+ community and its allies. To advance this mission, grants of at least $10,000 will be awarded to projects aimed at improving the health and well-being of the LGBTQ+ community. Priority will be given to projects that create safer environments for LGBTQ+ youth, combat phobia of the LGBTQ+ community, and support mental health and suicide prevention programs for LGBTQ+ people. In addition, micro-grants of at least $1,000 will be awarded for a wider range of programs that benefit the LGBTQ+ community, including but not limited to the arts, community events, and nonprofit operational needs. In preparation for the new grant cycle, the Gay Community Endowment Fund will host an information session for local nonprofit leaders on Thursday, November 8, at 3:00 p.m. at the Akron Community Foundation. The fund will begin accepting applications on November 15. Separate applications will be available for each type of grant, and decisions will be announced in early March. This support will enhance the pool of highly talented drug abuse scientists who conduct research within the funding priority areas (http://www.drugabuse.gov/funding/funding-priorities) or in the NIDA strategic plan (https://www.drugabuse.gov/about-nida/2016-2020-nida-strategic-plan). Applications are encouraged from doctoral candidates in a variety of academic disciplines and programs. This program will ultimately facilitate the entry of promising new investigators into the field of drug abuse research and promote transdisciplinary collaborations. This award is for up to two years of support for the completion of the doctoral dissertation research project.

The U.S. Embassy Manila Political Section (POL) of the U.S. Department of State is pleased to announce that funding is available through its Global Equality Fund. This is an Annual Program Statement, outlining our funding priorities, the strategic themes we focus on, and the procedures for submitting requests for funding. POL Manila invites proposals for projects that seek to provide assistance to local government units (LGUs) that have already passed local anti-discrimination ordinances, which include protections based on sexual orientation or gender identity, to move toward effective implementation. This project would also provide program opportunities that contribute to strengthening legal protections for LGBTI persons, a primary goal of the Embassy's Strategy to Reduce Violence Targeting LGBTI Persons. Activities contemplated under this grant would complement past and present efforts to protect the human rights of LGBTI individuals. The proposed program aligns with Embassy Manila's strategic goals of advancing democratic values, transforming governance, and protecting human rights while engaging the Philippine public and building networks to advance shared foreign policy interests.

The Kenneth B. and Mamie P. Clark Fund, supports research and demonstration activities that promote the understanding of the relationship between self-identity and academic achievement with an emphasis on children in grade levels K-8. This grant will alternate every other year between an early career psychologist and a graduate student. The 2016 grant will support an early career psychologist. The Kenneth B. and Mamie P. Clark Fund was established in 2003 to honor the Clarks and to perpetuate their work as pioneers in understanding the psychological underpinnings of race relations and in addressing social issues such as segregation and injustice. The Clarks were the first and second African-Americans to receive PhDs from Columbia University. Their famous doll experiments, in which they asked children to express their likes and dislikes about brown-and white-skinned dolls, led the Clarks to conclude that the segregation in schools and society was psychologically damaging to the children. These studies are believed to be the first social science evidence considered as hard fact by the U.S. Supreme court, in Brown v. The Board of Education of Topeka.

The Emergent Fund was established after the 2016 election to help move quick resources to communities that were and continue to be under attack by federal policies and priorities - immigrants, women, Muslim and Arab-American communities, Black people, LGBTQ communities, and all people of color. The Fund focuses on grassroots organizing and power building in communities of color who are facing injustice based on racial, ethnic, religious, and other forms of discrimination. Grants are considered for the following: efforts that support emergent strategies that help communities respond to rapidly changing conditions, including resisting new or amplified threats and building power to move a proactive agenda; and efforts seeking long-term social justice and economic justice in a political and social climate that seeks to dismantle such efforts. The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Food and Nutrition Service (FNS), through the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC), is responsible for providing Federal grants to States for supplemental foods, health care referrals, and nutrition education (including breastfeeding promotion and support) for low-income pregnant, breastfeeding, and non-breastfeeding postpartum women, and to infants and children up to age five who are found to be at nutritional risk. The legislative authority for this grant announcement is contained in the Child Nutrition Act of 1966 Section 17 (g) (5)[1] as amended and Section 1472 of the National Agriculture Research, Extension, and Teaching Policy Act of 1977, 7 U.S.C. 3318, codified at 7 CFR 2.19(a)(3)(x) in January 2009. This is an announcement of the availability of funds for one new cooperative agreement for FY 2017-2019 with a public or private Academic or Research Institution. In this funding cycle, the USDA anticipates awarding up to $1,000,000 in grant funding to support the creation of a Participant Research Innovation Laboratory for administering and awarding sub-grants for researcher-initiated projects that develop and test strategies to encourage retention of children in WIC. Developed strategies should focus on WIC service delivery sites or retail environments. Further, strategies must acknowledge the social and cultural diversity of WIC participants and those eligible for the Program.

Together with University Advancement, the Office for the Advancement of Research & Scholarship (OARS) is rolling out an new crowdfunding platform called HawksNest. Through HawksNest, alumni, family, and friends of the university can directly support the research, scholarship, and service projects of Miami University students, faculty, and staff. This is how HawksNest works: * Any Miami University student, faculty, or staff member may complete an online application to have a project considered for funding. * An internal review team assesses applications and posts approved projects on HawksNest for a maximum of 45 days. * Potential donors visit the site to learn about and pledge funds to approved projects. * Once a funding goal has been met, the project can begin! * Project managers use the site to keep donors up-to-date with information on the project's progress.

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) Office of the Director announces the availability of administrative supplements to expand existing research to focus on Sexual and Gender Minority (SGM) health. Principal Investigators holding specific types of NIH research grants, listed in the full Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) are notified that funds may be available for administrative supplements to meet increased costs that are within the scope of the approved award, but that were unforeseen when the new or renewal application or grant progress report for non-competing continuation support was submitted. Applications for administrative supplements are considered prior approval requests (as described in Section 8.1.2.11 of the NIH Grants Policy Statement) and will be routed directly to the Grants Management Officer of the parent award. Although requests for administrative supplements may be submitted through this FOA, there is no guarantee that funds are available from the awarding IC or for any specific grant.

Applications for the Cushwa Center's five research funding programs are due December 31, 2018.  Grants and awards fund research in repositories at the University of Notre Dame and beyond.  Research Travel Grants assist scholars visiting the Notre Dame Archives and Hesburgh Libraries.  Peter R. D'Agostino Research Travel Grants support research in Roman archives for projects on U.S. Catholic history.  Mother Theodore Guerin Research Travel Grants support research focused on Catholic women in modern history.  Hesburgh Research Travel Grants support projects using the Theodore M. Hesburgh Papers and related collections at the Notre Dame Archives.  Hibernian Research Awards provide travel funds for the scholarly study of Irish and Irish American history.  

The Peace Development Fund is committed to supporting organizations and projects that recognize that peace will never be sustained unless it is based on justice and an appreciation of both the diversity and unity of the human family. Our Community Organizing grants are PDF's open door to any and all who wish to apply. Groups should have budgets less than $250,000 and be located in the U.S., Mexico or Haiti. Deadline for this cycle is January 12, 2018 at 5 p.m. PST. Grants are in the $2,500 to $10,000 range, and average $5,000. PDF is particularly interested in receiving applications from new or emerging organizations; efforts that have difficulty securing funds from other sources; community organizations working on climate change issues at the local policy level; groups that have a genesis in Occupy or Movement for Black Lives; collaborative peace initiatives led by women; or issues that are not yet recognized by progressive funders.

The Pillars Fund invests in opportunities to elevate and amplify the leadership, narratives, and talents of American Muslims in civil society, the media, and public discourse. The Fund aspires to put an end to bigotry, xenophobia, and other divisive tactics that keep our nation apart. Support is provided to nonprofit organizations throughout the United States that address the following issues: Rights, Wellness, Understanding, and Leadership and Institutions. The G4GC Love is Healing COVID-19 Response Fund seeks to support U.S. coalitions and organizations that have been fighting historical inequities and the marginalization of girls of color well before COVID-19. The Fund will provide grants of up to $25,000 to nonprofit organizations (including those with fiscal sponsorship) and coalitions led by womxn or girls of color and/or with a primary mission to reach girls of color, fem(mes), and gender-expansive youth of color. Applications will be accepted by invitation only through November 2020; however, interested organizations can submit an interest form for consideration.

NIJ seeks applications for funding to support exploratory, mixed-methods research, employing both quantitative and qualitative data collection, related to the impact (if any) of the oil industry on domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking in the Dakotas and Montana. Research proposed may be focused at the Federal, State, local, and/or tribal levels. The goal of this solicitation is to fund a mixed-methods study to comprehensively assess whether the growing oil industry is having any impact on victims of, or contributing to an increase in, domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking in the Dakotas and Montana.

The Global Health Research Innovation Center (GHRIC) is pleased to announce a call for proposals for faculty research grants. These grants are designed to foster the development of research initiatives and partnership projects in global health. Grants will be made to Miami faculty to undertake small-scale, collaborative pilot research projects in global health and/or travel (of Miami faculty or domestic/international collaborators) to cultivate research relationships through establishing institutional linkages and jointly developing or writing research proposals. The expectation is that at least one outcome of each project will be the submission of an external grant proposal. Proposed projects must involve at least two Miami faculty members from different departments. Budgets are expected to be between $4000-$8000. We expect to award at least 2 grants for the 2016-2017 academic year. If funded, additional funding of up to $1000 may be available to help support presentation of the proposed project at either the annual conference of the Consortium of Universities for Global Health or the Global Health and Innovation Conference (Unite for Sight).
