In 2007, the National Institute of Corrections (NIC) launched the Transition from Jails to Community (TJC) Initiative to support the local reentry efforts of justice-involved adults. Under the Initiative, targeted technical assistance was provided to fourteen learning sites (including two jurisdictions selected in response to California Assembly Bill 109). Historically, community reintegration has proven complicated related to the brief length of stays in jails, the complex needs of justice-involved adults, and the lack of community-based coordination for supervision and/or post release treatment. These reintegration issues are more pronounced when considering the approximate 12 million adults transitioning through our nation's 3000+ local and community jails annually. The need exists for implementation of national strategy to increase public safety while enhancing evidence based programming to support the reintegration efforts of the men and women transitioning back into our nation's communities.

The Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights and Labor (DRL) announces a Request for Statements of Interest (RSOI) from organizations interested in submitting Statements of Interest (SOI) outlining project concepts and capacity to manage programs that will contribute to stabilization in Iraq by advancing human rights and rule of law; promoting reconciliation, accountability, and atrocities prevention; strengthening effective governance and increasing political participation; and protecting and empowering women, youth, and marginalized populations, including ethnic and religious minorities. The Bureau for International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL) announces an open competition for assistance award in Armenia. Organizations may submit grant proposals for programs that encourage probation development and corrections reform and rehabilitation programs for women. The activities under this award shall take place in Armenia. The announcement is for the solicitation of one award totaling up to $150,000. INL is seeking proposals with an implementation period of 6 months. A full proposal and budget should be developed for the implementation period of 6 months. Activities under this cooperative agreement must be implemented in their entirety by the primary recipient and/or sub-grantees that are explicitly listed and described in the proposal.

The Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA) will provide Federal assistance to support innovative projects seeking to promote and ensure the inclusion and use of minority enterprises. This Announcement is a mechanism to encourage new activities, education, outreach, innovative projects or sponsorships that are not addressed through other MBDA programs. MBDA has established key priorities designed to overcome the unique challenges faced by minority business enterprises (MBEs). MBDA is now initiating new approaches to serve MBEs that compliment Presidential priorities and U.S. Department of Commerce goals. With this solicitation, NIJ seeks applications for research and evaluation projects that will improve knowledge and practice related to identifying, preventing, investigating, prosecuting, and reducing technology-facilitated abuse, including sextortion, nonconsensual pornography (revenge porn), doxing, swatting, cyberstalking, and cyber-hate. NIJ will support scientifically rigorous projects designed to produce highly practical findings that will inform program, policy, practice and other efforts to address such crimes. NIJ is particularly interested in research and evaluation projects addressing the following topics . Risk and protective factors associated with an individual falling victim to technology-facilitated abuse, as well as how individuals or organizations become involved in these types of crimes. . Studies of the costs and consequences of technology-facilitated abuse (financial and otherwise), as well as how Internet-enabled harassment may be related to other crime(s). . Studies of the effectiveness of approaches in identifying, preventing, investigating, and prosecuting technology-facilitated abuse (This may include consideration of legislation and/or training). . Studies of the frequency and impacts of technology-facilitated abuse, in particular their effect on women and ethnic, religious, and racial minorities.

The Enhanced Training and Services to End Abuse in Later Life Program provides or enhances training and services to address elder abuse, neglect, and exploitation, including sexual assault, domestic violence, dating violence, or stalking, involving victims who are 50 years of age or older.

Authorized by the Family Violence and Prevention Services Act (FVPSA), CDC has funded the Domestic Violence Prevention Enhancements and Leadership Through Alliances (DELTA) Program since 2002. The DELTA program funds State Domestic Violence Coalitions (SDVCs) to implement statewide IPV prevention efforts, while also providing assistance and funding for local communities to implement IPV prevention activities. Different iterations of DELTA have focused funding on increasing organizational capacity, implementation and evaluation of IPV primary prevention activities.The purpose of this NOFO is to bring about decreases in IPV risk factors and increases in IPV protective factors by increasing strategic data-driven planning and sustainable use of community and societal level primary prevention activities that address the social determinants of health (SDOH) and are based on the best available evidence. In addition, the NOFO will help to further develop the evidence-base for community and societal-level programs and policy efforts to prevent IPV by increasing the use of evaluation and existing surveillance data at the state and local level. Another goal of the NOFO is for SDVCs to support the integration of primary prevention goals and action steps throughout the state and local level IPV planning and capacity building activities.
