The purpose of this program is to improve the judicial system's handling of child abuse, neglect, and related cases including cases of children who are victims of commercial sexual exploitation and sex trafficking.
The Brookdale Foundation Group works to advance the fields of geriatrics and gerontology and to improve the lives of senior citizens. The Foundation's Relatives as Parents Program provides support for the creation or expansion of services for grandparents and other relatives who have taken on the responsibility of surrogate parenting when the biological parents are unable to do so. Funded programs must include supportive services to relative caregivers and the children they are raising, with emphasis on families that are not in the formal foster care system. Programs must also include regular ongoing support, and educational or social groups for relative caregivers and the children in their care. Up to 15 programs will receive a seed grant of $15,000 ($10,000 and $5,000 respectively), contingent on progress made during year one and potential for continuity in the future. : The purpose of this program is to improve access to treatment and support services for youth and young adults, ages 16-25, who have a serious emotional disturbance (SED) or a serious mental illness (SMI), hereafter referred to as serious mental disorders. It is expected that this program will improve emotional and behavioral health functioning so that this population of youth and young adults can maximize their potential to assume adult roles and responsibilities and lead full and productive lives.Youth and young adults with SMI or SED between the ages of 16-25, including those with intellectual developmental disabilities, may not be working, in school, or in vocational and higher education programs. Some face the additional challenge of experiencing homelessness, or being in contact with the juvenile or criminal justice system, thereby increasing the likelihood of admissions to hospitals, mental health, and/or correctional facilities.
The purpose of the Equitable Access to Education in Southern Senegal Cooperative Agreement (CA) is to ensure the maximum number or children (aged approximately 9-16) in the Casamance (Ziguinchor, Sedhiou, and Kolda) and Kedougou regions of Senegal have equitable access to relevant basic education opportunities that develop essential life skills
The purpose of this project is to support methodologically rigorous research and evaluations (ideally a randomized controlled demonstration field experiment) with practical implications for government-funded juvenile reentry including in areas not limited to screening and assessment, behavioral management, organizational or institutional capacity and structure, cross-system services and coordination, post-release services and supervision, and family engagement and support. OJJDP is particularly interested in studies that focus on effective strategies for juveniles with co-occurring substance abuse and mental health issues; gang involved juveniles; and older juveniles or young adults who are returning to communities struggling with violence and crime.

This notice announces the opportunity to apply for funding under the Innovations in Care Coordination for Children and Youth with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and Other Developmental Disabilities (DD) Program. The Adolescent Brain Cognitive Development (ABCD) Study is collecting data on health and mental health, cognitive function, substance use, cultural and environmental factors, and brain structure and function from youth starting when they are 9-10 years-old repeatedly for 10 years and makes that data available to the scientific community through the NIMH Data Archive. The purpose of this Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) is to encourage applications proposing the analysis of this public use dataset to increase knowledge of adolescent health and development. The purpose of NIDILRR's ARRT program, which is funded through the Disability and Rehabilitation Research Projects and Centers Program, is to provide advanced research training and experience to individuals with doctorates, or similar advanced degrees, who have clinical or other relevant experience. ARRT projects train rehabilitation researchers, including researchers with disabilities, with particular attention to research areas that support the implementation and objectives of the Rehabilitation Act, and that improve the effectiveness of services authorized under the Rehabilitation Act. ARRT projects must provide advanced research training to eligible individuals to enhance their capacity to conduct high-quality multidisciplinary disability and rehabilitation research to improve outcomes for individuals with disabilities in NIDILRR's major domain of health and function.
The purpose of this Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) is to accelerate development of safe and effective long-acting drug delivery systems (LA-DDS) for improved, simplified treatment of HIV-1 in children. This FOA invites applicants engaged in the development of existing LA-DDS platforms at early product development stages to perform specific preclinical activities that enable product optimization and accelerated translation to HIV-1 infected children. Collaborative research partnerships with industry are required.
The NIH Research Education Program (R25) supports research education activities in the mission areas of the NIH. The over-arching goal of this OBSSR and participating institutes and centers R25 program is to support educational activities that develop cross-cutting methodologies and analytics that are needed to more rapidly advance behavioral and social sciences research (BSSR) and are not already well addressed by existing educational programs widely available to the research community. Methodological domains of focus include but are not limited to innovative data collection methodologies and analytic techniques, analysis and linking of big data, or needed but underused designs to advance research across the translational spectrum. Priority will be given to courses that address an important and cross-cutting educational need, that fill a gap in the field not already well addressed by other opportunities and that include a plan for increased reach and sustainability of the training both during and beyond the funding period. Over the period of support, it is expected that the course will be refined, improved, and sufficiently well-documented and resourced for dissemination of the program when the period of support ends. This program supports initiatives with the primary goal of promoting interethnic and intercommunity exchange, collaboration, and joint projects. We are seeking projects and initiatives that clearly develop increased tolerance and cooperation between the ethnically and geographically diverse communities of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Proposals should engage youth (ages 11-25) who have had no prior access to similar initiatives. The NICHD has a state-of-the art Biological Testing Facility for advancing male and/or female non-hormonal contraception development with the capabilities and capacity for preclinical and Investigational Device Exemption (IDE) or Investigational New Drug (IND)-enabling studies (e.g., fertility studies, pharmacology, toxicology, reproductive tract histopathology, sperm morphology). The Bureau of International Labor Affairs (ILAB), U.S. Department of Labor (USDOL) announces the availability of approximately $10,000,000 total costs (subject to the availability of Federal funds) for two cooperative agreements of $5,000,000. The purpose of this Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) is to invite applications for multidisciplinary national conferences that will inform care and facilitate research for major issues in pediatric critical care medicine. Given the nascent stage of development, the small diverse patient populations, and the rapid expansion of the field, conducting research and establishing best practices in pediatric critical care is challenging. National conferences that convene experts from across the country hold the potential to establish the frameworks necessary to overcome these obstacles. It is anticipated that such conferences will foster collaboration among different clinical disciplines, geographically and culturally diverse institutions and medical centers, professional organizations and NIH Institutes. Specifically, it is hoped that these conferences will drive the development and acceptance of uniform definitions, facilitate the determination of common data elements, identify key knowledge gaps to advance research, and/or foster discussions on how research findings can be used to best inform guidelines for patient care .
ACF is funding a cooperative agreement to sponsor the Child Development Research Fellowship that gives child development professionals from the academic research community the opportunity to experience policy research relevant to programs serving low income children and families. The goal of the fellowship program is to expose researchers to policy environments, particularly at the federal level, whereby they gain skills and expertise for policy-relevant research. The program is intended to stimulate the fellows' knowledge of child development research and evaluation, particularly regarding services for low income children and families, and to inform their process of developing long-term, policy-relevant research and evaluation agendas. The public will benefit from the increased availability of researchers highly skilled and experienced in policy- and program-relevant research and evaluation. Fellows will engage on a full-time basis for a period of one year (with a possible second or third year at the discretion of the grantee and depending on funding availability). Fellows will be exposed to the broader child development policy environment, particularly at the federal level, and to the policy research community through activities organized and conducted by the grantee. The cooperative agreement will require active partnership between the successful applicant and OPRE.
The Public Affairs Section of the U.S. Consulate General in Kolkata (PAS Kolkata) seeks proposals for a project entitled "anti -TIP International Youth Champions Conclave." The program will bring together 40-50 university youth leaders from U.S., India, Nepal, Bangladesh, and Bhutan to the American Center in Kolkata to collaborate during a three-day, intersectional workshop on TIP issues: * Intergenerational: Focusing on the importance of youth and university students to engage in anti-trafficking efforts, including awareness raising through campaigns and social media, internships, exchange programs, etc. * Inter-sectoral: Focusing on the "all hands on deck" approach to combat trafficking, including the private sector, engineers, graphic designers, media etc. * International: Focusing on the need for cross-country partnerships and information exchange.
