ABC Wildlife humanely manages urban wildlife and insects in the interest of human health and safety from an environmental sustainability perspective with a love of nature and a deep respect for all living things. ABC Wildlife has offered humane wildlife removal services to the Chicagoland area for over 35 years.  As a woman-owned corporation operating in a largely male field, ABC Wildlife understands the remarkable impact women can have when allowed to break through. We want to pave the way for other women pursuing their dreams in the scientific world, which is why ABC Wildlife is introducing a scholarship designed to increase the number of women studying and influencing the future of science, including technology, engineering and math.

We support K-12 programs that boost math and science skills, as well as university programs that aid engineering and geoscience students and departments. Shell funds projects at vocational and technical schools where chemical and refinery operators and technicians are trained. We are especially interested in supporting educational outreach in math, science and technology to women/minority students and academic institutions with ethnically diverse enrollments. Focus on biodiversity initiatives with support to programs that restore critical ecosystems, address water, air quality research, preserve wetlands and sponsor wetlands initiatives. As part of our commitment to environmental stewardship, we support projects that restore and protect critical ecosystems. In addition to restoration and preservation efforts, we fund research projects for threatened wildlife and/or habitats.

This Cooperative Agreement is a 5-year project for development and implementation of a Native Water Leasing Pilot Program for the Middle Rio Grande (MRG) to be developed and implemented jointly by the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation (NFWF) and the Bureau of Reclamation (Reclamation) in coordination with the Middle Rio Grande Conservancy District (MRGCD). Water acquired under the Program will be used to support implementation of the December 2016 Final Biological Opinion for Bureau of Reclamation, Bureau of Indian Affairs, and Non-Federal Water Management and Maintenance Activities on the Middle Rio Grande, New Mexico (2016 BiOp). The primary focus of the Cooperative Agreement is to develop and implement the cooperative pilot Program with MRGCD and willing sellers over a 5-year implementation period to acquire water for environmental use in the MRG. Through pilot implementation, the Program will set the stage for expanded native water leasing and other voluntary measures at scale as win-win solutions for the river, local communities, agricultural producers, and MRGCD over the long term. Further, it provides a key component of a large-scale long-term opportunity to combine instream water leasing with the restoration of riparian and upper watershed habitats along with other initiatives to advance landscape-scale restoration in the MRG. Areas where collaboration with other agencies and partner organizations will broaden the scope of the effort, leverage additional funding, and increase the prospects for long-term success will be identified throughout the effort.

Activities are being carried out by a variety of organizations in cooperation with state, local and federal agencies. Reducing the risk of wildfire to communities, property, wildlife, and critical infrastructure are essential to public and firefighter safety. BLM Colorado seeks cooperators to accomplish various activities to reduce the threat of catastrophic wildfire on public and private lands located in Colorado. Project work may include, but not be limited to, the following: hazardous fuels reduction treatments, including a variety of strategies; mitigation planning and assessments, including community wildfire protection plans; public education programs; expand community capacity to respond to a wildfire; and fire prevention activities. Through this funding opportunity announcement, the Colorado State Office of the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) seeks to engage cooperators to support hazardous fuels reduction activities on public and private lands along the wildland-urban interface (WUI) in an effort to reduce the risk to resources on both federal and private lands from wildfire. Activities are being carried out by a variety of organizations in cooperation with state, local and federal agencies.

Background: The BLM routinely requires assistance to implement prescribed fire projects. These projects are utilized to reduce accumulations of hazardous fuels, improve wildlife habitat, and reduce the negative effects of wildfire. The BLM would like to continue to utilize a qualified recipient for prescribed fire projects on BLM managed lands. Due to time constraints and rules and regulations inherent to prescribed fire operations, the recipient must be red carded at the appropriate levels for the assigned projects, and should be a close, available resource. The goal is to develop a good working relationship and understanding of the roles and responsibilities required to implement and manage prescribed fire operations. Objectives: Select parcels of BLM, Montana lands have been identified as candidates for fuels reduction treatments. The objective is to effectively and efficiently treat these parcels in accordance with BLMs policy and standards and the National Fire Plan. Public Benefit: Reduce accumulations of natural and activity fuels on BLM managed lands across Montana as determined by the NEPA process. The projects will efficiently reduce the risk to the public and natural resources from wildland fire.

The goal of the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative (GLRI) is to target the most significant environmental problems in the Great Lakes ecosystem by funding and implementing projects that address these problems. This single source funding opportunity to The Nature Conservancy funds fee title acquisition of land from a willing seller at the Bailey's Harbor Boreal Forest and Wetlands State Natural Area in Door County, Wisconsin.
