The Native Arts and Cultures Foundation is accepting applications from American Indian, Alaska Native, and Native Hawaiian artists for its National Artist Fellowship program, which annually supports Native artists in the categories of traditional arts, music, visual arts, literature and artistic innovation.

The Foundation will consider requests to support museums, cultural, and performing arts programs; schools, hospitals, educational and skills training programs, programs for youth, seniors, and the handicapped; environmental and wildlife protection activities; and other community-based organizations and their programs. Grants typically range from $1,000 to $20,000.

Ten fellowships providing stipends of $32,000 and up to $4,000 as a travel allowance are available for a non-renewable, one-year term for the 2018-19 academic year. The fellowships may be carried out in residence at the fellow's home institution, abroad, or at another appropriate site for the research. The fellowships may not be used to defray tuition costs or be held concurrently with any other major fellowship or grant.

Founded in 1995, the Shelley & Donald Rubin Foundation is committed to providing grants in support of programs designed to broaden access to art for a diverse audience, art in the service of social justice, art in the service of social change and discourse, and underrecognized artistic practice. Through this mission, the foundation aims to foster dialogue, encourage diversity, promote education, and nurture and empower communities.

The center is accepting applications for its Research Fellowship program. Through the program, approximately seventy fellowships will be awarded for projects that require substantial on-site use of its collections. The fellowships support research in all areas of the humanities, including literature, photography, film, art, the performing arts, music, and cultural history.

Established in 1998 through the generosity of the family of painter Richard Diebenkorn - both an alumnus of and longtime faculty member at SFAI - the fellowship provides an opportunity for artists to teach at the institute and have sufficient time and financial support to sustain their practice while doing so in the renowned studio environment of Headlands Center for the Arts. Through its semester-long structure, which includes a residency with studio space at Headlands, the fellowship not only offers each participating artist an invaluable opportunity to further their own practice, it also leaves a deep, lasting impression on SFAI students.

itled How Art Works, the report offers a framework for studying research topics critical to a broader public understanding of the arts' value and/or impact for individuals and communities. In December 2016, the NEA's research office updated its five-year agenda for 2017-2021, which reflects a tighter focus on Arts Participation and Arts/Cultural Assets as essential research topics. Arts Participation, in the new agenda, remains inclusive of various modes of participation and specific arts activities. These modes are: attending arts events; reading literature; creating or performing art; consuming art via electronic media; and learning in the arts. Arts/Cultural Assets denotes artists and arts workers, arts venues and platforms, and arts organizations and industries. The NEA is interested in research seeking to identify and to examine: * Factors that enhance or inhibit Arts Participation or Arts/Cultural Assets; * Detailed characteristics of Arts Participation or Arts Cultural/Assets, and their interrelationships; * Individual-level outcomes of Arts Participation, including those corresponding with the following domains: o social and emotional well-being o creativity, cognition, and learning o physiological processes of health and healing; and * Societal or community-level outcomes, including those corresponding with the following domains: o civic and corporate innovation o attraction for neighborhoods and businesses o national and/or state-level economic growth

Through its Creative Engagement program, LMCC supports effective and innovative approaches to engaging audiences through projects and programming featuring strong artistry. Funding will be provided in support of projects in the performing, literary, media, and visual arts. Each year, the program (which strongly supports the payment of artist fees) awards close to $500,000 in support of projects in the borough, including concerts, performances, public art, exhibitions, screenings, festivals, workshops, readings, and more.

Through its Small Arts Grants program, the foundation will award grants of up to $10,000 to support programs within a range of disciplines, including dance, film and media arts, interdisciplinary arts, music, theater, and visual arts. Grants may be used for artists' fees for creative time, production costs for performances or films, exhibition/installation costs for visual, media, or interdisciplinary arts, and projects that aid the organization's overall artistic development.

The program supports projects that operate outside of traditional forms of support, galvanize communities, promote critical dialogue, and encourage generative and expansive artistic process while driving culture forward regionally and nationally. These often informal, anti-institutional, serious, intentionally nebulous, and innovative projects are an integral part of the greater Portland region's vital art ecology and are emulative of the pioneering spirit of the Pacific Northwest.

An individual may submit only one application for FY 2019 funding. You may not apply for both a Translation Project under this deadline (December 5, 2017) and a Literature Fellowship (in prose or poetry) under the 2018 deadline (when fellowships in prose are offered). The Arts Endowment's support of a project may begin any time between November 1, 2018, and November 1, 2019, and extend for up to two years. Program Description Through fellowships to published translators, the National Endowment for the Arts supports projects for the translation of specific works of prose, poetry, or drama from other languages into English. We encourage translations of writers and of work that are not well represented in English translation. All proposed projects must be for creative translations of literary material into English. The work to be translated should be of interest for its literary excellence and value. Priority will be given to projects that involve work that has not previously been translated into English. Competition for fellowships is rigorous. Potential applicants should consider carefully whether their work will be competitive at the national level.

Now in its thirty-third year, the annual program provides financial support to developing or established professionals for projects that are pivotal to the advancement of their career as artists. Because such projects may happen at different stages of a career, Emerging Artists grants are not restricted to new or emerging artists. Grants of up to $1,500 will be awarded in support of artistic projects in the areas of painting/drawing, photography, installation, film/video, drama, literature, printmaking/mixed media, craft, sculpture, dance, and music.

The $20,000 ABOG fellowship supports socially engaged projects that promote art as a catalyst for social change; projects that feature artists in leadership roles; dialogue-based projects that emphasize active and sustainable partnerships with communities; and projects in which artists engage community members as equal partners on locally relevant issues, or globally relevant issues as they apply to the local context. Projects in which co-creation with non-artists is part of the process are highly encouraged.

USAI encourages and promotes the vibrant diversity of American artists and creative expression in the performing arts by expanding opportunity and exposure to international audiences, encouraging international cultural exchange, and enhancing the creative and professional development of U.S.-based artists by fostering connections with presenters, curators, and artists around the world.

The U.S. Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City invites proposals for projects that focus on at least one of the priority women's empowerment programs and target audiences specified including Professional Skills, Science Technology Engineering Mathematics (STEM) and Business, Media & Arts, Civil Society, Women in Politics and Governance, and Underprivileged and Vulnerable Groups.

To design and implement a series of arts programs and events to address a variety of social issues. Refer to the NOFO.

The program supports the publication of book-length scholarly manuscripts in the history of American art, visual studies, and related subjects that have been accepted by a publisher on their merits but cannot be published in the most desirable form without a subsidy. For the purposes of this program, "American art" is defined as art created in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

The U.S. Embassy in Ljubljana, Slovenia announces this Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) for Slovenian cultural institutions and civil society organizations. The Embassy continues to offer grants for well-conceived and managed projects that encourage and promote cultural and artistic cooperation, collaboration and exchange between the United States and Slovenia. Projects should: promote the values and culture of American society; present American history, society, art, or other culture to Slovenian audiences; and/or promote cultural cooperation between Slovenia and the United States. Typically grant awards range from $3,000 to $5,000, though some exceptional projects are funded up to $10,000, and supplement other funding. The deadline for submitting proposals is August 1, 2017. New grantees will be given priority over previous grantees. Funding for cultural grants is decided through a competitive application process, and each proposal is reviewed by an internal embassy committee.

To be eligible, projects must be sited in Boston and have a lead applicant who is either an individual artist, an artist applying on behalf of a clearly articulated artistic collaboration, an unincorporated collective/company with strong artist leadership, or a culturally specific, immigrant, traditional cultural practitioner group. 

Named for the museum's former executive director, the David Whitehouse Artist Residency for Research will enable artists to be in residence for up to three weeks to explore materials at the Rakow Library, the world's foremost library on the art and history of glass and glassmaking, and to use other scholarly resources available at the museum, including knowledgeable staff in all parts of the organization.
