Administered by the Mid Atlantic Arts Foundation, the USArtists International program supports performances by American artists at important cultural festivals and arts marketplaces around the globe. USAI encourages and promotes the vibrant diversity of American artists and creative expression in the performing arts by expanding opportunity and exposure to international audiences, encouraging international cultural exchange, and enhancing the creative and professional development of U.S. based artists by providing connections with presenters, curators, and artists around the world. Grants of up to $15,000 will be awarded to American dance, music, and theater ensembles and solo performers that have been invited to perform at international festivals and/or for performance engagements that represent extraordinary career opportunities anywhere in the world outside the U.S.

The Public Affairs Section (PAS) of the Embassy of the United States in Islamabad, Pakistan is pleased to announce an open competition for assistance awards through this Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO). PAS Islamabad invites all eligible organizations (see Section C for Eligibility Requirements) to submit a proposal for a Grant or Cooperative Agreement to support people-to-people activities between the people of the United States and Pakistan, specifically in the area of visual and performing arts (e.g. filmmaking, photography, poetry, theater, comedy, music, or other performing and visual arts). The objective of this funding opportunity is to promote visual and performing arts as a medium for professionals and communities, from the United States and Pakistan, to engage in substantive dialogue about issues related to civic engagement, freedom of expression and social justice.

The U.S. Embassy's Public Affairs Section in Moscow (PAS Moscow) invites proposal submissions for a cooperative agreement to provide technical and logistical support for arts and cultural programming in Russia. The grant recipient will work closely with Public Affairs and Cultural Affairs at Mission Russia to identify and select American artists and performers to bring to Russia for short-term programs. Performances may include, but are not limited to music, dance, theater and film/television acting, and culinary arts. The grant may occasionally include programs for artists in the spheres of photography, comic books and graphic arts, computer art and design, arts management, painting, and other visual and graphic art. Individual athletes or groups of athletes may also be supported through this program to demonstrate their talent. The grantee will be responsible for assisting with support in the form of fee negotiation with the artists, visa assistance, in-country and international transportation arrangements, airport pickup, event promotion, procurement of educational and printed materials, and other technical and logistical support as directed by PAS Moscow. Additional examples of supporting activities include reimbursing artists for program-related expenditures and processing vendor payments for travel expenses, support, or other items.

Through its Small Arts Grants program, the foundation will award grants of up to $10,000 to support programs within a range of disciplines, including dance, film and media arts, interdisciplinary arts, music, theater, and visual arts. Grants may be used for artists' fees for creative time, production costs for performances or films, exhibition/installation costs for visual, media, or interdisciplinary arts, and projects that aid the organization's overall artistic development.

Through the annual program, the foundation awards travel grants of up to $20,000 over an academic year to individual scholars in support of historical research on Venice and the former Venetian empire, and for the study of contemporary Venetian society and culture. Disciplines of the humanities and social sciences are eligible areas of study, including but not limited to archaeology, architecture, art, bibliography, economics, history, history of science, law, literature, music, political science, religion, and theater.

Grant applications are open to individuals and NFP educational, cultural and/or social justice organizations for projects meeting our Mission's objectives that utilize Fine Arts, Dance, Music, Theater, Creative Writing, Poetry, Photography, or those that create Educational Reels (only) with teaching guides of documentaries or have Public Interest Platforms/Forums such as Independent Journalists or those NFPs which engage in community non-partisan discussions.

The Foundation awards travel grants to individual scholars to support historical research on Venice and the former Venetian empire, and for the study of contemporary Venetian society and culture. Disciplines of the humanities and social sciences are eligible areas of study, including (but not limited to) archaeology, architecture, art, bibliography, economics, history, history of science, law, literature, music, political science, religion, and theater.One of the Venetian Research Program grants awarded will be designated as the Henry A. Millon Award in Art and Architectural History. Applicants and grantees are advised to plan for the added difficulties surrounding travel during the COVID-19 pandemic. There are restrictions on both international and domestic travel. Additionally, access to archives and other research institutions can be difficult to ascertain and continue to change. Grantees should consult the recommendations of the Center for Disease Control, World Health Organization and the Italian health authorities when planning their travel and research. To support scholars, the Foundation has lengthened the grant period to a two-year timeframe. Grantees will be able to adjust their travel plans and submit an updated itinerary. Each will be asked to confirm the accessibility of their research sites. Grant payments will be provided close to each scholar's research period. We hope that this added flexibility will allow scholars to stay safe while moving forward with their important work.

An organization may submit only one application through one of the following FY 2014 Grants for Arts Projects categories: Art Works or Challenge America Fast-Track. - The Arts Endowment's support of a project may start on or after June 1, 2014. Introduction The guiding principle of "Art Works" is at the center of everything we do at the NEA. "Art Works" refers to three things: the works of art themselves, the ways art works on audiences, and the fact that art is work for the artists and arts professionals who make up the field. To make "art work," the NEA has included the advancement of innovation as a core component of its mission as a way to ensure the vitality of the arts. We recognize that arts and design organizations are often in the forefront of innovation in their work and strongly encourage innovative projects which are characterized as those that: *Are likely to prove transformative with the potential for meaningful change, whether in the development or enhancement of new or existing art forms, new approaches to the creation or presentation of art, or new ways of engaging the public with art; *Are distinctive, offering fresh insights and new value for their fields and/or the public through unconventional solutions; and *Have the potential to be shared and/or emulated, or are likely to lead to other advances in the field. Through the projects that we support in the Art Works category, we want to achieve the following four outcomes: *Creation: The creation of art that meets the highest standards of excellence, *Engagement: Public engagement with diverse and excellent art, *Learning: Lifelong learning in the arts, and *Livability: The strengthening of communities through the arts.

he $1,000 CORST Essay Prize recognizes the best essay on psychoanalytically informed research in the biobehavioral sciences, social sciences, arts, and humanities. The winning essay will be presented at the APsaA National Meeting and will be reviewed for publication by The Journal of the American Psychoanalytic Association.

The Antarctic Artists and Writers Program furnishes U.S. Antarctic Program operational support, and round-trip economy air tickets between the United States and the Southern Hemisphere, to artists and writers whose work requires them to be in the Antarctic to complete their proposed project. The Program does not provide any funding to participants, including for such items as salaries, materials, completion of the envisioned works, or any other purpose.

Grants of up to $500,000 will be awarded to projects that involve arts organizations, artists, and designers working in partnership with local and national partners to have a transformative impact on their community.

Summer Stipends support individuals pursuing advanced research that is of value to humanities scholars, general audiences, or both. Recipients usually produce articles, monographs, books, digital materials, archaeological site reports, translations, editions, or other scholarly resources. Summer Stipends support continuous full-time work on a humanities project for a period of two months. Summer Stipends support projects at any stage of development. Summer Stipends are awarded to individual scholars.

Applicant organizations for NEA Big Read must be a 501(c)(3) nonprofit; a division of state, local, or tribal government; or a tax-exempt public library. Eligible applicants include organizations such as literary centers, libraries, museums, colleges and universities, art centers, historical societies, arts councils, tribal governments, humanities councils, literary festivals, and arts organizations. Note: K-12 schools, school districts, boards of education, or other school governing bodies, whether public or private, are not eligible applicants, but may partner with eligible applicants. NEA Big Read supports organizations across the country in developing community-wide reading programs which encourage reading and participation by diverse audiences. These programs include activities such as author readings, book discussions, art exhibits, lectures, film series, music or dance events, theatrical performances, panel discussions, and other events and activities related to the community's chosen book or poet. Activities focus on one book or poet from the NEA Big Read library.

In 2017, the NEA hosted a one-day Documentary Sustainability Summit featuring filmmakers, producers, distributors, film festival representatives, funders, and other stakeholders to discuss the documentary filmmaking field. A State of the Field Report was subsequently published, which identified key issues and action items necessary to ensure the sustainability and future growth of the field.

The annual fellowship is awarded to an artist of exceptional promise to pursue an independent project at Princeton. Hodder Fellows can be composers, choreographers, performance artists, visual artists, writers, or other kinds of artists or humanists who have "much more than ordinary intellectual and literary gifts" and are selected more "for promise than for performance."

Fellowships will be awarded to artists whose achievements have been recognized as demonstrating extraordinary promise in any area of artistic practice and teaching. Applicants should be early-career poets, novelists, choreographers, playwrights, designers, performers, directors, filmmakers, composers, and performance artists who would find it beneficial to spend two years teaching and working in an artistically vibrant university community.

The Children's Theatre Foundation of America's grantmaking focus is on theatre for children and youth, the utilization of drama or theatre in education for children grades K-12, and development opportunities for theatre artists working in the area of children's theatre in the United States. The Foundation's Aurand Harris Grants and Fellowship Fund supports small and mid-sized nonprofit theatres that are engaged in a new initiative for a particular company or a new original play for children and youth. Professional theatre artists working in theatre for young audiences may also apply for support in the development of their artistic excellence. Grants range up to $2,000 and may be used for project expenses, equipment, or travel. The application deadline is March 5, 2018. An organization may submit only one proposal under this program solicitation. This Cooperative Agreement will begin no earlier than March 1, 2020, and extend for up to 24 months and no fewer than 12 months. Program Description NEA Research Labs are intended to serve as "hubs" or centers of excellence in the domain of interest. Each NEA Research Lab will develop a pipeline of projects or products, even while conducting at least one major study. In addition, NEA Research Labs will be positioned to fulfill ad hoc analyses or information requests concerning the research agenda being pursued, as may be required during the project period of performance. Such requests will not involve new data collection. Priority will be given to applications that show capacity to design and implement a series of studies based on theory-driven research questions and methodologies that will yield important information about the impact of the arts within the selected topic area. Research methodologies may include such approaches as quasi-experimental or experimental designs, or analyses that use primary and/or secondary data. Competitive applications will take into account any extant research that serves as a basis for a theoretical framework and helps to motivate the proposed studies. We also welcome novel and promising research approaches, such as rigorous analyses of organizational or social networks, and/or social media data, and statistically driven meta-analyses. In addition, we are interested in translational research that moves scientific evidence toward the development, testing, and standardization of new arts-related projects, models, tools, or techniques that can be used easily by other practitioners and researchers.

FilmWatch grants support curated screening programs at North America-based film festivals, film societies and other film-related organizations. Targeted programs include those that create culturally diverse viewing experiences, promote motion pictures as an art form, provide a platform for underrepresented artists, and cultivate new and dedicated audiences for theatrical film. Grants typically range from $5,000 to $20,000. FilmCraft grants support high-quality educational programs that identify and empower future filmmakers from nontraditional backgrounds. Targeted programs include those that encourage an appreciation of film as both a vocation and an art form, and those that provide direct, hands-on opportunities for participants to gain the filmmaking skills they need to tell their stories. Grants typically range from $5,000 to $20,000. The program also supports the Academy's commitment to diversity in the industry. Diversity encompasses artists as well as audiences; the cultural and geographic communities to which they belong; their age, gender, race, ethnicity, disabilities, religious beliefs, sexual orientation, and gender identity. The Academy seeks to fund proven and rising institutions that open pathways for storytellers from a wide range of backgrounds, and especially those from underserved communities.
