The NIH Research Education Program (R25) supports research education activities in the mission areas of the NIH. The over-arching goal of this NIH Blueprint R25 program is to encourage individuals from diverse backgrounds, including those from groups underrepresented in the biomedical, behavioral, and clinical research workforce, to pursue further studies or careers in research. To accomplish the stated over-arching goal, this FOA will support creative educational activities with a primary focus on Courses for Skills Development, Research Experiences, and Mentoring Activities. The fully integrated educational activities should prepare undergraduate students from diverse backgrounds, including those from groups underrepresented in biomedical and behavioral sciences to enter Ph.D. degree programs in the neurosciences. To accomplish this goal, this initiative will provide institutional awards to develop neuroscience research education programs comprised of collaborative partnerships integrated across different educational institution types.

The Chan Zuckerberg Initiative invites applications for a new RFA for collaborative pilot projects to explore innovative, interdisciplinary approaches for addressing key challenges in the biology of neurodegenerative diseases. Awards are $150,000 in total costs per pair, and successful pilots will be eligible to apply for additional four-year project development grants. Collaborative Pairs teams will benefit from the support and resources of the CZI Neurodegeneration Challenge Network.

The Tourette Association of America (TAA) aims to encourage early career researchers to invest their efforts and expertise in increasing our biological understanding of Tourette Syndrome (TS), pursing clinical research aimed at improving patient care, and developing and testing new therapies.

Through the program, grants of between $50,000 and $150,000 will be awarded to early-career investigators in support of novel research proposals that seek to advance the medical knowledge of migraine. We are interested in proposals that address memory or cognition under normal and pathological conditions. The Jointly Sponsored NIH Predoctoral Training Program in the Neurosciences (JSPTPN) is an institutional program that supports broad and fundamental research training in the neurosciences. In addition to a broad education in the neurosciences, a key component will be a curriculum that provides a strong foundation in experimental design, statistical methodology and quantitative reasoning. . JSPTPN programs are intended to be two years in duration, and students may only be appointed to this training grant during the first 2 years of their graduate research training. The intent of this grant is to fund innovative psychological science research projects. Students in all fields of psychology and neuroscience and are APAGS members are eligible to submit. Funds for this $1,000 scholarship must be used to support the proposed research. This grant may be used for thesis, dissertation or other research.

Applications must include at least one Mentor, appropriate to the proposed research project, who has experience in Parkinson's disease research and mentoring as demonstrated by a record of active funding, recent publications, and successful mentorship. The selected Mentor(s) should also demonstrate a clear commitment to the development of the PI toward independence as a Parkinson's disease researcher.
